I have ME2 and ME3, and managed to get ME1 on PC for £3. Never played it (I know, bit ar*e about face).

So my questions:
1) The lauch windows says "Register Mass Effect and gain access to exclusive content..." etc.  However the Learn More button just takes me to this website, and I can't see any way to actually register the game.  How do I register ME1 and get the exclusive content?

2) There's a 2nd DVD in the box, but I wasn't asked to use it during the install.  Is used later in the game?  There's an Autorun on the disk, but that just brings up the ME1 launcher.  There's a DataSetup.exe in the Data sub folder on the 2nd DVD, but that won't run properly.  So what's with that?

Cheers

1) Don't think so. Mine, bought 4 months ago, certainly isn't registered and the usual answer round here when that question's asked is nope.

2) Er... pass. Mine came from Steam.

Thanks, but seems odd to say register, but not be able to, and then give a 2nd DVD bit not use it on install. Anyone else any ideas? Any bioware peeps here?

There never have been any of their people in here, after it was added to the Social Site.

Seems that when the old forums or whatnot were compromised, Mass Effect 1's registration didn't come over into the new system. But, contacting EA got ME1 onto my Origin account, so I've sent them another message to ask about Bring Down the Sky (a registration incentive DLC; see also http://social.biowar...1/index/1335293).

Contacted EA support and they just sent me a key for the free DLC.

So any ideas in the seconds DVD in the case? Anyone here played ME1 on the PC from disk?

Due to the change BioWare did to the forums, it's no longer possible to register ME and gain BDTS DLC through that. However, you're able to download the installer via the official download link, provided in a sticky in this forum, and use a CD key, also provided in a sticky in this forum, to gain access to said DLC.

Thing is, I had no idea the even was a DLC, let alone what it was called. So when you install and it says click link to register and it doesn't, it's not obvious what to look for.

Anyway, all answered, the question left is what is the 2nd DVD for?

In Europe, the game was distributed with English as the default language on the primary game disk. If another language is chosen during installation, only then is the second, supplemental disk, put to use.
