why is every possitive thing now labeled trolling?

do you even know what that means? because people sure do throw that word around alot

Whilst I agree with you Tazzmission, there seem to be a lot of threads popping up specifically claiming that the endings in particular are "Awesome" and "too beautiful for words" etc. I am happy that people enjoyed it, but can understand why some might be getting suspicious

Clearly, if I liked the ending and others don't, then they didn't get it like I did. That's not passive aggressive; that's factual.

Factual?

People, like you, keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

The only thing one should "get" about the ending is that its horribly bad.

he's not being positive he is making fun of people that are postive by reinforcing a damaging stereotype against them.

so if he likes something that now means hes making fun?

do you even realize how crazy that sounds?

Of all the people I've seen defending the ending on here (admittedly quite few), only two have managed to come up with coherent & succinct reasons as to why they do so. Those two actually raised good points about the ending, and even though I disagree with them, I respect their opinion.

The others who simply praise the ending and not-so-subtly imply that rest of us simply don't "get it" are, well, not so intelligent.

I'm not sure it's helpful to imply people who didn't like it didn't "get it."

The impression I get is the "anti-enders" are more annoyed by the presentation.

I liked the endings too, they seem to be fitting the game. They remind me of "The Hollow Men" by T.S. Eliott
"This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but with a whimper"

Please don't associate my name, or that wonderful poem, with those horribly vapid and flavorless endings.

I'm as unbiased towards the endings as they come. Indeed, I'm one of few people who can see a few interesting and ambitious ideas in the endings. But anyone who comes out and says they loved them unconditionally is probably dubious.

the way i see it he either; 1) doesn't actually like it and is making a satire of those that do or 2) he really does like it, and is therefor proving a dangerous stereotype true that ending lovers just say others are stupid and didn't get it

either way a problem

This is the Internet. If you like something that the vocal part hates it is read that you are either a) crazy, B) stupid or c) trolling.

Pretending Shepard isn't Indoctrinated is like pretending the OP isn't trolling, for me.

Seriously, I'm not trying to start some forum flame war; I just expressed an opinion that seems underrepresented at the moment what with all the attention on how "bad" the endings were. I loved the endings as is, but I'm still excited to see what they'll do to satisfy the fans who were disappointed.

Glad you enjoyed it. It does show that the ending did polarize their fanbase. :)

Though, I honestly think many/most "get" the endings. Stargazer telling the legend of "The Shepard". A myth that has been partially lost in time. Everyone playing the game(s) are telling their own version of the legend. And like most legends passed down through time, there are differences. Some killed the geth, others the quarians. Some even managed to reconcile them. And so on, and so on.....

At least that's what I think you're getting at.. ^^

For me it was a horrible ending. I don't buy games to get depressed.

If the OP or supporters could post a thread indicating how structurally, literally and cannonically and sensically the ending is 'awesome' as has been done with regards to how those things are flawed as so many people have done constructively, I might be able to take you more seriously.

Honestly, as it is ("the ending is amazing and I have no way to explain it!"), I simply see you as simple and therefore pleased simply. If this is the case, and you are happy, I applaud you.

I know. That's why I usually stay away from forums. And believe me here it is quite civil. Try Morality threads on the Order of the Stick forums. Those are really bad.

Perhaps then if you did get the endings you could explain them in context and how they relate to the rest of the trilogy. I'm all "ears". My bondmate is dead, I'm pregnant, I'm stranded on a planet somewhere with a human who does nothing but make bad jokes about everything, and someone who won't call me by my name but rather calls me "Asari" or primative.
