You only mention character level, with no mention of N7 rating or, more importantly, the level of weapons they're carrying.

Character level doesn't really mean a lot beyond the first few levels. You can get to 20 in just a few hours even on Bronze. What matters more is having decent weapons and mods.

I'd be more confident in a Silver match with a Level 1 Infiltrator holding a Widow V and damage mod V than I would with a level 20 Infiltrator holding a Mantis II with no mods.

I'd rather only play Silver or Gold with my friends, for fun. If they aren't on, I don't even bother wtih anything but Bronze because every single time I've joined a random gold or silver match there is some snobby, elitist, jerk with a mic. that spoils the fun and leaves me with a sour taste. Childish people should be banned from using mics, or hosting games.

I play on PC and nobody uses voicecom in random pc games (i played 8 chars to 20 and never heard a single word being said). And without any kind of communication silver games are often quite annoying.
So bronze is just more fun with this setup. Although i agree with one of the posters here, i´d like to have another difficulty level between bronze and silver that is fun to play with randoms.

The lvl 20 human VGs are the funniest, or saddest (I don't know which).

Host game other day on newly promoted char, 2 of em joined my lobby. So, I ninja bumped it to silver....

They both immedietly left.

So if you are sick of lvl 20s pwning bronze, bump up the difficulty...they will leave and or inevitably rage quit when they die.

Personally I can more than hold my own on Silver though I would only call my self average on Gold so I do play Bronze as well as Silver more often than not. The reason for this is I play for fun, like helping less experienced players and cannot stand the attitude from quite a few (though most certainly NOT all) of players who frequent some Silver and Gold matches who do have some kind of weird elitist attitude which gets real old real fast.

I find Bronze to be the most fun and least stressful difficulty when playing with random people online.

Dumb decisions made by dumb players are hardly a game-losing problem in bronze.

Because they have fun in bronze ?

This describes why I spend most of my time in Bronze lobbies. There are as many "terribads" in Silver and Gold lobbies, and when they f*ck up it can gimp the entire group. It's always a disaster when there are two bads in a Silver lobby. But two baddies in a Bronze? Winnable. And winning is fun.

You're doing it wrong. Buy recruit packs until all the base weapons are Xed out (Avenger, Shuriken, Katana, Mantis, Predator).

Then start buying Veteran packs.

Sometimes its just more enjoyable to drop down to bronze so that you don't have to worry about team mates messing up so much. After a chain of Silvers the other night where other people were getting killed over and over in the most absurd ways. (Seriously. Who gets Banshee stabbed 3 times in one match? Who does that? ) I just went down to bronze to grind out a few more packs instead of beat my head against the wall dealing with people on silver.

If you only play bronze, recruit packs are probably a better buy. If you can finish silver matches with what you have, I'd personally go straight for spectre. In the long run, the majority of your common/uncommon weapons are going to be made obselete by N7s and golds, so if your current equipment is good enough for silver, there's nothing wrong with skipping recruit and vet packs entirely. The biggest downside to this is you'll max out your mods slower, but it wasn't really a problem for me.

I have a lvl 19 playing on bronze now. I want to finish the game in 12 min and promote him fast. But lvl 20 on bronze is just, meh.

There's times when I play on bronze with lvl 20 characters for other reasons, no credits to buy packs and not enough medigel/rockets for silver/gold.

and btw i did 1gold till the end(partial extraction) with random ppl, no speaking in game, maybe there were group/friends on some mumble or vt , cant tell , was hard but good , i didnt think that gold is possible without mic and headphones

I play my Krogan and my Turian Soldier (with Revenant) on Bronze because at higher levels they can't pull their weight the way the game is designed.

My Drell Adept and Human Engineer I normally play on silver. Though occasionally I take the Drell Adept out on Bronze for Drell Ninja Assassin Monk melee fun.

Yeah, headsets are completely unnecessary if people know what they're doing. Communication might still help if you want to focus targets, coordinate combos, etc., but a good group will be able to do those things anyhow (albeit to a lesser degree). If everyone has decent DPS and knows how to stay alive and position themselves well, advanced coordination is largely unnecessary, even on gold.

Try using carnage spam and a good shotgun (graal, gps, claymore) with the Krogan. I dislike playing turians, but there are a few good guides around here, and I've seen a good amount of turians perform decently on gold.

Yeah there's probably lots of reasons for high levels being on bronze. Personally I have 2; I enjoy laughing at low level noobs/helping said noobs :P or I'm feeling lazy and just want to grind and not think about strategy. Also, I like to have at least one non-random person on even my silver team so sometimes if noone is on I'll just mess around with bronze

If I play bronze for more than 2-3 matches I get worse or lazy or something...
Because If I do bronze for a while and then do gold... I do much worse than I did before....

Pretty boring too. Last night I was having connection issues so I did a bronze run on my own. Ended up being on Reactor vs Geth. Full extraction, 10+ waves survived, 1 killstreak, and a variety of other medals. And that was just as a lvl 1 infiltrator.

I kept asking where all the Primes/Hunters/Pyros were. The map seemed empty compared to silver waves

It's because each difficulty has a budget and the bigger enemies like primes and atlas are about 100 points which is about 1/5th of the bronze budget.

So the only time when you'll see more than 1 or 2 is on objective waves because they just keep spawning enemies.

I can't speak for others, but I did some bronze matches yesterday because I promoted a few characters and I'm not gonna take a level 1 human vanguard or quarian engineer into a silver match.

In all honesty, after promoting I'll level the class up to at least 10 in Bronze before I bring it into Silver again. Otherwise I wind up feeling like I'm being carried by the rest of the team.

I am surprised by the amount of N7 50+ with classes over 15 that play Bronze with them.
Unless you go into higher difficulties, you don't learn & earn anywhere near as much.
Having said that, I still haven't done a single Gold difficulty game. Primarily because I honestly don't feel like I've got enough of the better weapons at a decent lvl to allow me to be effective enough that I'm not dragging the team down... Catch-22.

Use a Salarian Engineer with decoy, Asari Adept\\Human Sentinel for biotic explosions or something else that doesn't require weapons, assuming you have them.

Because Silver and Gold are hard. And it's just not even fun to play when it's that difficult.

Most of the times when I join silver, I end up with a bunch of rambo-idiots who keep getting killed in wave 1-3. So there's not much profit there if we can't even make it to wave 6. In bronze they also run around like rambo-idiots, but the chances of making it to the end solo increase alot.
