Good day gentlemen, I have a lot of games, and they work just fine.. but I wanted to try again to play Dragon Age Origins.. which I own the digital deluxe..
Problem is, after 4-5 attemps to download (and the file ended being corrupted with some .txt file weighing 4Gb between other weird phenomena) in the last attemp.. the installer keeps asking for DISK 1..
I wonder.. Why disk 1 if its a digital deluxe version?
something is wrong with the online installer that is requested by EA's Origin?

I good report, other than the lack of graphics card information, but unfortunately I don't think I can help much. I find digital downloads of games still more problematic than disc versions, so avoid them.
Still, I have heard of this problem and the causes are unfortunately varied. Some of which are user system setup issues and to do with other applications. Any other download managers installed? What sort of A/V do you have?
EA/origin have a seperate help system, that should be able to assist you better. Should be....

Origin's support as been completely CRAP for me, they just blame my computer when they cant find a solution in their recipe.. they dont seem trained.. at least the ones what have tried to "help" me.
anyway the video card is a Sapphire HD5870.. I dont think it should matter since its an installer error.

Okay, if I had to guess, I'd say your issue stems from the fact that you have a SSD as your system drive, and you're trying to install the game on another drive. Is that correct?
If so, then the issue is most likely some sort of conflict between the Origin client and the game software. You're installing DA:O onto some other partition, and Origin client is not telling it this, so the installer is looking for disc.
Unfortunately, there's not a lot of help in this particular forum for issues with the Origin download client. I suggest you try help.ea.com again, and find ask specifically for help with installing the game on a drive other than C:. Also, there are forums on EA's Origin site that deal with troubleshooting and bugs... maybe some user there has already encountered this?
RI
p.s.. The other option, of course, is to clear out enough space on your system drive to see if the DA:O will install properly there. I suppose there may also be some sort of corruption issue, if you were having problems with the download itself. Unfortunately, I don't think the EA Origin client can check the integrity of a program *until* it is
installed.
EDIT: Another thought... I wonder if you can download through the Origin client (using the option to save installation files), exit the Origin client completely, and then run the installation program manually? It should be in a subfolder of wherever you tell Origin to save the install files (assuming you have that option checked). Look for autorun.exe or setup.exe.

Incorrect. the installer is the problem not the place I put my hard disk files on, I tried installing directly on the SSD , same problem.
Anyway for the 5th time, I tried logging completely out of origin.. (a new patch came out), install the new origin.. download the patcher..
and the installer finally worked.. sort of.. now the stupid game says "there is a problem with your game's setup, please reinstall your game"
note that I've played ME1 ME2, ME3, Dead Space 1 and 2, dragon age 2, also MEDAL OF HONOR 2011.. and dragon age 1 is the only game giving me issues.
also I have way more space than need in my hdds ( I got 5 hdds for gods sake.. and my ssd as 45Gb free).
I'm gonna try the "save the install files" trick next. but seriously, my patience is growing thin..
I find this laughable how I played DA a year ago and worked fine.. installed the demo, and worked fine.. decided to reinstall the whole thing... and the game refuses to install or when it finally does.. it doesn't run.
considerong how many times I did it, it seems that the cloud servers have CORRUPTED files.

The character profiles take a long time to upload these days... not sure why. Also, you have to actually be playing the game (while logged in, of course) for anything to appear on the social network. You may also want to browse this forum:
