Bioware Missing a Trick?

Then I went onto play Dragon Age: Origins, and (to me at least) that took the depth of the characters to a whole new level, the way they would start talking to each other at will, the way you could stop and talk to them whenever you wanted; even the love interests treat you like you were romantically involved with them, hell you could stop and give Morrigan a kiss in the middle of a town if you wanted to...but then Mass Effect 2/3, I dunno. I still felt the connection with the team mates I built up, but I miss the interaction.
This is what I don't get...Bioware have proven that they can implement systems such as DA:O for character/squad relationship development, and from an RPG perspective it works great, so why put it aside?
I know there's no point in crying over spilt milk - the game is what it is, and there's no changing that - but I just feel it could've been so much greater (from a fundamental RPG base) if Bioware had of repeated what they've shown they can do, instead of dumbing down.

Whereas in DA:O your LI will refer to you differently if you're actively in a relationship with them "Hello my love/sweet" etc.
How hard would it have been to implent a tiny bit more detail into ME3 to bring it up to that level?

My second playtrough with an imported Tali LI was much more convincing, she at least had some touching lines when rummaging through the geth Dreadnought...

You want to know what happened to this magic. To letters: EA. once Bioware started to work for them they stopped having the passion they once had, and everything became about money and big business.
That's not BW's fault.
Try to work with deadline that's at least 6 months BEFORE the expected finish line. Basically, EA points a big gun at BW and says "work harder" - there's not much room for being creative or trying new things. EA churns out games for the mainstream, it's not known for doing innovative stuff. And if a developer team fails, it simply gets disbanded ...
The only way for BW devs to get out of this is to leave EA and re-found themselves, so to speak.

I never said it was Bioware's fault. I simply stated once Bioware started to work for EA their passion in creating their videogames faded over time. It's beacause of EA, Bioware is "failing". And as you said above EA are the ones holding the gun at Bioware's back and telling them to "work harder". And all EA cares about is money and profit. So of course the main goal for Bioware at this point is the same as EA's, money and profit.
Edit: But if you think about it. It kind of is Bioware's fault, they took the money to work with EA in the first place.

Well, we're facing galactic extinction; an ancient threat capable of utter annihilation, and you want to make out with your LI right in the middle of an active mission, and for her to call you 'love' instead of Commander? Sure, that seems right. *sarcastic*
erm, no...what I wanted was Bioware to be as good as they used to be and add an extra level of depth to their character interactions.
think about the differences of someone coming into this game and trying to build up a relationship with Ashley, compared to someone who started on ME1 and got to know about what made Ashley tick. If I had of came into the series on this game, I probably wouldn't have even bothered letting her come back aboard the Normandy.

Yeah I think I wrote a pretty similar thing in another post - EA pushed out a game that could've done with another 3-6 months worth of development time...a lot of Bioware's creative aspects were probably lost in the ether pushing out a product that wasn't finished.

Ikarus: I'm currently writing a large essay regarding the stuff you brought up. It leads to the ultimate conclusion BW needs to fix some stuff: either via patch or DLC regarding characters, regardless if they're active LI or not.
Stay tuned. It may take a while. ^^
sounds good

Yeah. Yesterday
I'm surprised I got support by ALL fans of EVERY LI.
Seems everyone feels some stuff is missing for the favorite LI, regardless if it's Liara (best treated LI) or Jacob (worst treated LI).
Keep up the good work.
Also my little DLC-essay is officially supporting that PAX letter initiative ...

Ohhh Good I'm eagerly awaiting this Data!!!!
Yeah BW seemed to dumb things down for action mode to be in the game. As far a LI's go Ahley got treated worse than Miranda did. She had harldy any exclusive LI content and Miranda had lots.
Samara that pink elephant in the room from ME2 was just never touched on in ME3.
Don't get me started on Jacob.
And Thane that was just an insult to every fan of Thane regardless if he was your LI, his death broke me most and then It was like no one ever knew Thane.
Non LI characters like Grunt, Zaeed, Kasumi, all were lacking in ME3.
Heck Legion, Mordin, and Adams, were done better than Ahsley, Thane, Samara, and Jacob.
