I would've loved to have Legion, Thane, and Mordin but they gave their lives us for good reasons. This was a tough list because I wanted Kasumi, Zaeed, Jacob, and many more but I had to stick to 7.

Garrus: Doesn't really need explaining. He's Shepard's best friend and understands him more than anyone. They've been together through thick and thin. On the game side, his voice acting, lines and his general aesthetic is a great compliment to any Shepard.
Tali: My Shepard's love interest. Tali is adorable in that shy, geeky yet determined and intelligent kind of way, and she can handle herself in a fight. Another old school comrade I take with me everywhere. Great for distracting banshees with her drone and lending general support.
Zaeed: Tougher than most and with a more cynical and blunt perspective on things. I love his accent (though to be fair, I'm British too) and his dialog is generally fun to listen to. Another solid team member to provide extra fire. And grenades. Lots of grenades.
Liara: She grew on me a lot as she matured, and I've come to appreciate her personality as well as her biotic abilities. She's great to partner up with my next choice:
Javik: Cynical because he's seen the galaxy at its worst, but strangely accommodating in terms of his growing optimism. Seeing him open Liara's eyes to a more real understanding on what the Protheans were actually like makes for compelling narrative. Also, he makes people bounce and explode. It's hilarious. Also great accent.
Mordin: I'm a sucker for scientists, especially eccentric ones. Mordin had that certain zaniness, but it really highlighted the internal struggle he had to deal with every day. He was a fasinating character, and brought some real neat abilities to the battlefield.

To be honest, the 7th slot could go to just about anyone else from ME2. I like Jack, Legion and Grunt equally. And then there's Wrex and EDI, whom were both interesting characters.

Zaeed: "I'd just go with Jenkins, if I were you. That guy got a whiff of the ending and just quit right off the bat. Probably the smartest goddamn soldier I ever saw."

Eh I prefer the Seven Samurai to the Magnificent Seven but...oh wait thats not what this is about...ok uh...for my Shepard (Adept)
Tali: Tech expert, best I can think of.
Garrus: Excellent Sniper. Deals with enemies from afar and can calibrate the team's guns.
Wrex: Unstoppable krogan biotic on the front lines? Yes please.
Samara: Clearly the strongest pure biotic I can think of. Plus, she can fly.
Kaiden: Another biotic and excellent soldier./Javik since Kaiden is...dead in my playthrough.
Mordin: He would make a great "medic"
Kasumi: She is a really good assassin in game with shadow strike. However if you had to go by story and ignore Thane's disease...Thane is better.

Barney is a lover not a fighter. When I say lover, I'm refeering to the lame wominising but kind of attractive kind of lover. Any fighter is going to trump Barney Stinson.

Magnificent Seven? Not Dirty Dozen? Alright. Dream ME3 team:

Thane: Sniper and biotic? Sign me up! In a perfect world, his hand-to-hand combat would come into play, and he'd have a move similar to Kasumi's Shadow Strike.

Wrex: Certified badass and krogan vanguard. Yes.

Mordin: Good support, and can be useful for research.

Legion: Dual Widow action! And we didn't get nearly enough time with him in ME2; two missions, maybe the DLCs.

Jack: Upgrade her Shockwave and keep her out of the line of fire, and it's husk bowling time.

Javik: Someone's got to be there to keep us primitives in line.


And if I could introduce a new character into the squad? Bakara. I want to see her and Javik banter so, so badly.

Wrex - He's a Battle Master(biotic Krogan) do you need any more reason?
Grunt - Not just another krogan, but the perfect krogan!
Garrus - Good friend of Shepard. He keeps it real and is a crack shot!
Vega - N7 programme rookie, tough SOB.
Zaeed - Tough SOB.
Kaiden - Another spectre on side can't hurt, pluss he has biotic and tech abilities.
(I might swap Kaiden out for Javik if i have to).

Tali: Just a lovable character. My favorite LI.
Ashley: I dunno, I just like her
Mordin: His dialogue rocks. All of it!
Zaed: Like Mordin, his dialogue is awesome.
Jack: A troubled soul who's got potential to be a really interresting character. Unfortunately, she got dumped for ME3.

Ashley(ME1)-  What the hell happened to her? Seriously.  I want back the fearless soldier from ME1, not the sexed up paranoid conspiracist I got stuck with in ME3.

Miranda  -  My favorite character from the series; excellent tactician with a wonderful character arc. I was really disappointed she wasn't a squad mate for the finale.

Mordin - It's freakin' Mordin!

Samara  -  She was great fun, very "I am the law" but not to the point of overzealous blood lust.

Tali'Zorah -  What can I say? It's Tali. She's cute and comedic and I'd be disappointed if I didn't have her.

EDI -  This one surprises me to say, but I just loved all her dialogue and I'd never want to part with her now.

Jack -  Really didn't like her in ME2, but loved what she had become for ME3; sad I didn't get to see more of her.

Big lack of males here, made worse by my main Shep being Fem Shep... Ah well, amazon warriors ahoy!
