Right, I have to say i'm a PS3 user primarily, so I naturally joined the series at ME2, and I have to say those two games I played were brilliant (save for the ME3 *cough* conspicious *cough* problem), so I got the trilogy for Xbox360, mostly so I could savour the choices in the first game, the ones I couldn't make on the PS3. Right, I have to say i've played all the way up to recruiting iara (I have also done Noveria), and I have to say i'm having trouble getting into it, the story is of course yet again brilliance, and the characters are amazing (I have to say my mind is treating the first one as a prequel mostly cos I went in at ME2), et the gameplay absolutely kills me, it destroys me, it's far too easy, I can show no care for tactics and strategy and still bomb through the map.

So, BSN, your mission if you choose to accept it, is to make me, I repeat make me, get used to ME, any tips or anything to help me get used to the horrid gameplay.

Normally you should get into it after a couple of hours tops. Depending on the amount of muscle memory you'd need to overwrite it may take a bit longer, but from then on gameplay is smooth and comes natural. It is different from ME2 and 3, sometimes by a large shot, but fluent by itself nontheless.

I find the game enjoyable because I've played it so many times. Basically, I go back to play an old classic and a favourite of mine so despite the flaws in combat, I still enjoy it.

Strangely, I don't get much excitement from the combat system but I enjoy going around and doing the mission (even the collection missions!), talking to people, and making tough decisions based on my character. I always felt combat came in second to the story. I still read the codex, not all of them, but I read some and leave others for my next games. Also, the voice codex is fun. I even turn the difficulty down to make combat even more trivial. Don't want to waste too much time with combat.

For me, what makes ME1 is the story and that's why I keep going back to it.
