I thought they did a great job, especially with only a few ppl, the time it took from start to finish and reaources. Unfortunatley add all that up and some stuff will be missed. Perhaps on the next project each fan group gets one or a few representatives who collect and update all of their respective fan letters etc. they then collaborate with the other reps and anyone charged with the overal project- think of this like a Casey hudson positions. Therefore the load of putting it all togethet is spread out. Each fan group is incharge of their own thing . What do you guys think?

Of course.  I've mentioned it before how much I appreciate them for doing all of this, and I'll say it again: I appreciate all the work you did for all of us Visii and co.

I just don't like how it wasn't mentioned that they may not get every letter or there was some difficulty in managing everything.  We would have helped.

I convinced Yannkee to write a short letter (he's a huge fan and a friend of mine here btw) even though he had to go to bed.

Over twitter, jdoylelcsw (who has the same name on BSN, just doesn't come here often) offered to write a letter if I could send it to the person in charge of this. And I did, gave him my email address to send it over.

Now I have to apologize to both

Agreed, that would have helped these guys out when it came down to getting things printed, etc.  We are all in this together, should be right that we all help out in our own way (in this case help with gathering letters from each fanbase, updating, adding, etc)

Communication is key, whether it's telling the developers or getting this project to work out well IMO.

They will be used in the next thing that we put together. The book for PAX is great, so now we should just focus on building on that.

It sucks that quite a bit of Miranda stuff was left out, but it is what it is, and next time, it won't be left out because we will handle it ourselves.

A Note:

- Aryss and Nick are at PAX and will have a chat with Patrick Weekes, later today. Weekes gave them his personal email address, to send him a copy of The Book.

- If your letter didn't make it into the book, and you wish to resubmit it, you have until 12 (AM) EST to resend it to me. The deadline is final. Please spell-check it before submitting it. We will add it to the The Book that will be emailed to Patrick Weekes.
It will also be sent to some journalists and bloggers.

- Over $250.00 was spent on this project, not counting gas. Aryss & Nick didn't ask for donations. They drove six hours to get there. They discarded their other PAX plans to see this project through. We all did our best on two hours of sleep per night and not much food- our time was consumed by reading and cleaning up over a hundred letters, many of them several pages in length (the majority of Miranda fans in particular wrote very detailed letters).

- We did a freaking AWESOME job with the time we had.

- Nick, " Yeah, the physical book may not have been perfect, but it was a symbol. It was the face of this movement. And do you really think the bioware people will flip through a physical book when they will have an easy-to-read pdf to view on their computers?"

Fair enough, sounds like a good solution.

Again, a magnificent effort on your part for which we are all grateful Image IPB

I didn't even know this existed, but I'm glad it was made. :) While I was content with my LI, I would love to get more (in game render of Tali's face would be awesome :)), and see other people get as much enjoyment as I had!

Good luck!

Agreed, I took it too much over the missing/not updated content so I apologize :(

All right. I sent you the updated version by PM. Didn't spell check because I read this just now. I'll send another version if I find mistakes.

Project Aftermath

- Aryss and Nick should get back to me, shortly, about their chat with Patrick Weekes and the others. Hopefully they'll get to ask a few more questions than they did before, when they presented The Book.

- Don't forget to keep asking about The Book on twitter and facebook!

Visii mentioned that $250 were spent on the project. Is there any chance we could organize a fundraising effort to held defray the costs?

We COULD just bill BioWare...

EDIT: Nick & Aryss just said, "Tell 'em not to worry, we got this one. We'll just have to organize funding for future projects in advance."

Very curious about their meeting with Patrick Weekes.  Looking forward to what transpires.

Read through the PDF (ok, maybe not every letter, but easily more than half), and I have to say there are some very eloquent fans out there.  I was amazed at how well people could express the details of their compliments and criticisms, with out getting derailed or bogged down in wordiness.  APPLAUSE!!  And once again, kudos to Visii, Aryss and Nick!

And i think that is a really important part and we should not forget this. Be critical but be constructive... say upfront what your concern is but keep it polite...
I am so damn ashamed that self-called "fans" are attacking the defs on twitter and getting personal...

And we should be way above that kind of person...

^This. Agreed. If you need a bit of catharsis, feel free to take a look at some of the fan threads; a lot of us use humor as a form of venting, or creat Art......Good job all!

I just asked Chris about the book. He hasn't looked through it but Mike Gamble hopped in and said he looked through it on the plane ride. He said he's gonna talk to Casey Hudson about it Monday.

Wasn't sure if anyone wanted to know.

EDIT: @imp187: You posted my own tweet before me. lol
