They could take away MP completely and I'd be happy to have a more balanced SP game. MP sucks.
If you had to choose between the multiplayer mode or a more fleshed out singpleplayer mode, what would you choose?

with Mass Effect, singleplayer is what made the series so popular. I would trade this second rate MP mode for a longer SP campaign anytime.

There is nothing wrong with wanting a MP in the ME universe as a co-op play for the story. I think that is what most people wanted that were asking for MP for ME. Bioware, no other way to put this, hamfisted MP into ME3 and try to make it relevent by having it effect the SP game. Now, that is what is bugging everyone. Two seperate types of game play that shouldn't effect each other because not everyone, like me, likes MP game play. I find it boring. If I want to play a game that I just shot things without a story, I would play the many flash-type games on the Internet for free.
Bioware could have released a MMMO for ME Universe after ME3 ran its course. It would have given those that like MP more options of what they can do other just playing a horde type game.

I never had any real interest in MP. I played ME3 because I wanted to continue and wrap up the story from ME1 & 2. I thought maybe I'd try MP aftewards, see if it was fun. But now I doubt I will ever try it.

I guess a more fleshed out SP.
I love MP when I can play with people I know, but it's so hard to set up games sometimes and it's always the same thing.
Little more diversity would've been nice.

ME series begun as single player game and I definitely wanted to finish it as single player campaign. The fact that you are forced to play multiplayer to achieve the best ending is quite troubling.
Answer to the original question is sp all the way- multiplayer should have not affected the ending of originally purely single player campaign. I play Old Republic and Lotro for example from social games, but Mass Effect has always been my getaway, my Shepard's own story, which I can play all by myself, without queueing, socialising etc..
If the mp did not take any time from the production team fair enough- I dont see any reason why it shouldnt be in the game, however the fact that it has profound effect on the single player outcome is highly disappointing and to be frank - dodgy in my own books.

If given a choice, definitely single player. But you falsely assume multiplayer took time, and resources, away from the single player team. In fact, completely separate teams were working on each mode and it was originally thought multiplayer would be a separate game. The decision to merge them was made relatively late in development. I know I'd pay $60 for it (if they fleshed it out with some more modes and real co-op missions).

I haven't even touched the multiplayer, I'm not the least bit interested. The only thing I'm interested in is single player content.

Definately SP

I always pick singleplayer and story over multiplayer. If I want to play multiplayer, there are plenty of separate games that focus on it and do it better.

Ooh, this is a tough question. I do enjoy the multiplayer but I think I'd give it up for a "proper" ending.
It'd suck though, as I play MP enough that my GR is consistently above 95% so that should be a good indicator that I get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Multiplayer is ok to chill out with friends, but above all I want to see single player massively expanded and buffed. Oh, and that horrible ending changed.

Singleplayer because its Mass Effect

I like the MP, but I'd prefer a more deeper SP
the thing is though, i really doubt that if they took out the MP the SP would all of a sudden have more to it. ME3, arguably, has the most content out of all the games, so I don't see how not having MP would increase the depth in SP. I still think that it was seperate teams, seperate resources, I never understand why people go "durrrr, they did MP so they took out stuff for MP" Isn't it possible that they decide to allocate (just throwing a number out there) 1 million for the SP campaign, but then give in an extra 500k for the MP? so it's either that or getting only the 1 million for the SP, you assume that, without the MP they would spend 1.5 million on the SP, but this isn't true. If you have proof that bioware sacrificed SP, then please show me

single player, mass effect never needed multiplayer and the crappy multiplayer that was added probably ruined the ending. what would you rather have guys, a proper ending or the cheap gears horde mode multiplayer... hmmm i wonder....

Nope. Granted, I did have an account long before ME 3 was released. When the demo came out, I didn't play it because I don't like MP games. I know some people do, but that isn't OP question now is it?
No one is saying Bioware shouldn't have done a MP for ME Universe, but they could have taken the time to have one that blows the others out of the water. It is just hord mode, which will change I am sure. When the DLC comes out for MP mode, I am not getting it because, once again, I don't like MP.
The point is really simple, I know people like MP, I don't, why does that bother some people?
