If you had to choose between the multiplayer mode or a more fleshed out singpleplayer mode, what would you choose?

So many people against MP... if you dont like it, dont participate.

Flawed logic is flawed.

Also @OP, that's not even remotely a contest, fleshed out SP all the way.

Single player, multiplayer should never have been anywhere near a Mass Effect game.

I think the fairer question is:

"Better with Kinect" or a better ending?

You guys do realize that it was a separate team that worked on multiplayer, right? If anything, the implementing of multiplayer gave the core team more time to work on the singleplayer portion (march release instead of holiday 2011).

The biggest thing I respect about bioware and a handful of other companies is that they are the few companies left that make really fleshed out single player games. I really dislike the way most gaming companies are going the way of Call of Duty. Where single player is like really, lack of better vocabulary, crappy. I for one am not big on Multiplayers, I enjoy playing a really in depth game by myself on my own time where I can be invested in a deep rich story. It's better than reading cause it's interactive. But... It makes sense when companies go toward mp/mmo cause it just makes more money in the long run. I'm sure one of you business wizards here can do a cost benefit analysis and see it. Anyways just my 2 cents. I like single player.

Nonsense, there will always be an opportunity cost to any allocation of labor/capital.

They are still paid out of the same budget.  Budget diverted to new features are resources not allocated to new missions/content.

Sp ofc!

It`s been stated that the mp was made by a different team , but IF the resources of this new team had gone into for example only the ending earth mission..... T_T

Or maybe a mission on Palaven... or Irune... or Dekuuna (ME fields to counteract the high gravity would make for an interesting gameplay element)... or Kahje... or hell more than one mission on Thessia and Sur'kesh...

I would trade the multiplayer, ME was always about the singleplayer, if the story was gutted to focus on MP, then shame on them for going along the mainstream route

Yeah, this. Its actually kind of a tough choice, because I don't have much of an issue with ME3 as it currently is. The ending could definitely be more epic and more satisfying (regardless of Shepard living or dying), and I'd love more squad members...I think. I don't know, ME3's multiplayer is a ton of fun. They'd have to come up with some sick stuff for SP to make up for it, some amazing storytelling. More distracting side quests ala ME1 and ME2 wouldn't cut it for me.

edit:

All (potentially) good ideas. Though the thing about Mass Effect fields I'd call a plot device rather than gameplay element, unless it does something like make Shep and Co. super slow, or drastically decrease carrying capacity.

Multiplayer.... always.

WAY more re-playability... I could play the same 3 maps over and over if its still fun.

Though, I tend to hate single player games / pve so I'm biased, Mass Effect is the ONLY pve/single player series I actually liked/could get into. Rest of PVE stuff makes me want to take a nap.

I am SHOCKED that the first reply was Pro-Multiplayer o_O

Not insulting, just shocked.  I had thought everyone would have preferred a more pristine Single Player experience.  Mass Effect multiplayer just feels tacked on.  If I wanna play multiplayer, I'll grab a different game.

I'd rather have a fleshed out singleplayer experience. If I want to play multiplayer, I'd play a game that's dedicated to multiplayer.

ME without the story is just COD in space. MP is cool, but not at the expense of the story.

Horde mode doesn't even have that much replayability.

Better singleplayer would be nice. I like multiplayer, it's pretty fun, but I don't think it should have an impact on my singleplayer.

For me it would be the singeplayer.

I have always bought the mass effect and dragon age games because of the singeplayer.
I would trade in the multiplayer with an extended singelplayer for side missions and more interesting characters, i'm not complaining about the ones we got now, they were good, dont get me wrong.

and an ending that actually fulfilles the requiremnts of what the producers said it would be like.
