It is not broken, a disc snapped in half is broken, corrupted data is broken, glitch or bug that prevents you physically reaching the end of the game due to code error is broken. Your dislike of how they ended it is not "broken", if you can reach the end of the game the product "works" as intended.
The story it tells is what is broken about it. From the point you go up on that floating white platform the story is no longer Mass Effect, everything past that point violates directly every tenant of the Mass Effect story.
In the Mass Effect story Shepard doesn't just accept what he is told, he challenges everyone and makes his own choices. In the ending Shepard is compliant and accepts everything he is told.
In the Mass Effect story, decisions you make matter, and have lasting impact. In the ending, nothing you did before that points matter, and the choices you make after that point are destroy galactic civilization as we know it with one of 3 colors.
In the Mass Effect story we form bonds with our squadmates and become invested in their lives, in their stories, and they become invested in us, willing to put their lives on the line every day for us, and us for them. In the ending they abandon us and high tail it for who knows where with no thought for us at all, nor do we get a chance to learn about their lives after that moment.
It gets even more broken when you start picking at all the last second retcons and plot holes.
In all ME titles the responses yet get allowed to pick is chosen by them, the decisions you are allowed is chosen by them. What impact they have is chosen by them and the bonds you create only exist because they allow it as they could quite easily have killed off the ones you like if they chose to do so. All part of the framework of the story they wished to tell. Bioware are one of the few developers that allow the use of such method and framework and one of if not the only ones to span it across three titles.
Which apprently is now about deus ex machina's, nonsense and space magic, unlike everything else in every game.
If thats how they wish to tell their story then thats how they wish to do it, simple as that.
And if you watched the video and saw how ALL of the polls being taken thus far lean, you can see that the vast majority of people do not want to hear them tell a story like this. And if they continue to tell a story like this, they are not going to have nearly enough people listening to them to be able to continue.
Moving on, great video. Glad we have so many clear thinking and intelligent people on our side to properly lay out the many, many reasons we are taking offense with Bioware for their actions.
I'll be stepping out of this thread now to avoid the trololo. He just wants attention and he will get no more from me.
