Distinct lack of love for the Garrus/Tali side-love in ME3.

I loved it, even though I'd romanced Tali in ME2. Especially when you catch them about to kiss in the gun battery.
thoughts?

Eh, seems forced.

I love it. It showed that the characters could have relationships with each other instead of just Shepard and I felt it made them more realistic.

I've been predicting it since Mass Effect 1.

@Swim, I do like the idea of other characters having relationships. I could have sworn at the beginning of the game tha Liara would hook up with Kaidan if my Shep didn't. Then there's Gabby and Ken, etc. I don't know why I think the Tali and Garrus thing is weird. I guess I'm part of the camp that hooked her up with Kal'Reegar eventually.

Made me feel lonely. I romanced an ME2 character. Everyone on the ship gets to hook up but me.

I don't really have a problem with it in theory, but it came off too much as pair the spares to me.

EXACTLY

Here I am walking around my ship before the final mission trying to put it all in perspective and find, oddly enough, Tali isn't at her work station. I last saw her drunk so I'm kinda wondering oh boy, what now. As I continue walking and seeing Ken and Gabby and Joker and Edi I'm thinking back on all the women I met in my life and why is it the one girl I want to be here with me, ISN'T. Tali and Garrus must be in the same shoes though. Can't quarians and turians be compatible though? I think I read that somewhere. How come those two never hooked up I wonder?

*Opens Garuss's door - sigh*

"Of course."

*About face and walks back down the hall.*

At least Javik and Liara are in the same shoes though, right? Please tell me they're in the same shoes. People hooking up left and right and I can't even get a damn photo to look at.

LOL Yes. My Shepard romanced an ME2 character as well (Thane). She was forever alone and people were either hitting on her or she was walking in on their romantic entanglements. :/ It was depressing.

As for the Garrus/Tali thing, I have to say it was a surprise to me. Ever since ME2, I thought Tali and Kal'Reegar might start a relationship if Tali was unromanced. They were cute!

I was never under the impression they were about to kiss (at least when I romanced Tali, no such thing happened, and I seen people say otherwise). And how were they going to do it? Garrus was going to smack his head against her helmet?

Seriously. Having your face close to someone during a conversation doesn't mean you're about to make out with them.

If it does happen when you're not romancing Tali or Garrus, it's a pretty nice thing that deepens their characters, that's how I see it.

It was definitely supposed to be an interrupted kiss moment, which is weird because turians don't really have lips and Tali has her helmet on.

I thought it was cute, though. They've got a lot in common, both being technically inclined with a lot of combat experience and a shared history. Plus, you know, they can eat the same food.

It only happens if your Shepard has not romanced either of the two of them during ME3. You walk in on them very close together and they stammer and act embarassed and Shepard says "I'm happy for you two" and I think Tali makes an inuendo.

It's a cool little add in, but it does kind of come out of left field. (That said, I hardly ever had Tali in my team, so maybe there's in mission dialogue that builds on it.)

There is dialogue that builds it in ME3 if you have them together. I agree it feels a bit forced though considering Tali was interested in Shepard only a few months before (ME2).

It is cute though.

I am in that camp that thought she would be better with Kal as well if left unromanced. The thing with Garrus to me seems strange and forced, because they never got along like that in the two earlier games. The "I have a shotgun" conversation being a good example in ME2   Even conversation with other characters back then pointed to her having eyes for Shepard, so it came out of nowhere in ME3 for me.  I guess Bioware figured since team dextro got so much support they'd just hook up those two.  Regardless it was done nicely and a funny moment when it occured (Had to youtube it of course since I romanced her).

Very much so. It certainly wasn't a natural development: it was more tabloid romance than anything else.

For all of you complaining about how lonely the game is because you romanced an ME2 character and spent the whole game all alone and forever avoiding getting hit on ... well I felt that way all through ME2 because I was forever alone waiting for the VS.

I thought it was funny, and I simply chalked it up to combat stress and not anything serious on the part of either one.

I absolutely adored this, I was headcannoning it since ME2 with the whole fleet and flotilla comments.

Never saw it in my game, since I romanced Garrus. But to be honest, I didn't see it coming at all. o.o

Also, frylock23, at least you get your VS as a squadmate/big roles for two games.

ME2 LIs (particulary Thane) does for one game.

Oh well, ok no rage since I romanced Garrus and Tali didn't do anything. What pains me: after Normandy is somewhere magical-tropical, Tali and Garrus would probably get together after my death

You know with as many LI that got screwed over in this game; I'd not be shocked by that in the least.  Finally get what you want only to have someone else come take it anyway...  Posted Image

I think Tarrus(Gali?) is cute. I always thought they would make a good couple since the teasing elevator conversations in ME1.

Cute easters egg. Its funny if you catch it happen but you dont miss anything if you dont. With the War to End all Wars, why couldnt they get a bit of comfort themselves ? If you dont want to see them together then romance them in ME2!

i was kinda hoping Tali would hook up with Kal'Reeger actually.....
then my Aunt/Uncle Shep and Uncles Wrex and Garrus would come over and visit Rannoch with Wrex and Eve's kids and the Quarian and Krogan kids would play together

It comes off as an easter egg/joke that fell flat. The normal and funny cross-table convo that they have when one is romanced should instead have been the universal result of the optional visit back there.
