Just finished my first playthrough this morning (yay me!).   Last night before I called it quits, I did the landsmeet deal and ended up killing (or having Alistair kill) the queen's father.  I saw the blood, I saw him hit the ground, he was as dead as anything can get.

Finished the game this morning and am watching Anora give her long speech when all of a sudden, I spot daddy in the crowd!  Noooo.  I even had a conversation with him about him moving on to the wardens now.

Moving on, I walk out the front door to be in my parade.   Now in the epilogue it mentions that queen had a statue of her now-dead father erected, and that part of the story jibes with the choices I made.  It was just that last cut-scene that kinda blew everything else out of the story.

haha yeah! Alistair was still my best friend and was up on stage with me. He didn't seem to take notice of the man he killed once.

That actually did happen to me.

Even creepier still, the guy was freaking COVERED in blood splatter. I didn't talk to him because it gave me the spooks.

what BW did not tell you, is there is a chance he comes back from the fade and haunts certain characters.....you'll see him in more DLC, and Expansions, and DA2....your system is now haunted

During my meating with the King at Ostagar I swear I saw the dog watching me in the distance, at the time I was playing as a City Elf. Not had this one though of Loghain.
