It varied.  If memory serves it got up to 3 hours.  Sometimes it was just for 90 minutes.

Interesting. Well we're coming up on 3 hours, with Big O next and at least 1 more show after that. Unless they cut it off early which would suck.

Wonder how long it'll go.

What's a toonami? Who's Tom? Can someone please explain to the Canadian what the heck's going on all of a sudden?

Toonami was an anime programming block and was very instrumental in introducing anime to mainstream American audiences.

I'm guessing, or hoping rather, they'll keep it going for the entirety of adult swim.  If so, it'll be going until 5 AM Eastern.  They had enough shows that they could fill that, but we'll see.

Never got into Big O or Yu-Yu Hakusho, might be calling it a night unless something else is coming up after them.

Big O? Yu-Yu Hakusho is pretty good IMO. I got all the seasons a couple years ago because I never got to see the whole show when it aired on Toonami. Hakusho came on during the 5-7 pm block, but after the first season or so, the show started airing during midnight (and I couldn't stay up that late to watch tv back then when I was a kid).

Yeah they definitely had enough. But actually I think it only goes to 4 AM, at least according to my guide (when Bleach repeats itself).

So with YYH at 3:30 or so then we should expect at least one more show.

Was never a *great* show but it was definitely good. I had really hoped Toonami followed that with more original anime series.

...instead they canceled Toonami, and the only original stuff we get are made out of cardboard or low budget shows.

No, Big O is the name of an anime series.  It's on right after Outlaw Star tonight.

Funny, though.  Way back when I first heard of Big O I also thought it might have been a nickname for Outlaw Star.

They should.  Many of them have been voice actors for years, they've done lots of anime voices and some of them are now doing video games, including Bioware games.

Yeah as a show I wouldn't exactly call it memorable. But it was memorable for being their first ever attempt at an original series.

And for a first attempt? I was excited about Toonami's future. At the time anyway. But no time to be depressed! I have it tonight, like a long lost love come back to spend just one more night together.

I didn't remember that part until you posted it .. a show they made themselves .. I thought it was weird at the time for a western studio or something to make an anime.

Stop. Bringing. Memories. Back. I probably buried them in the back of my mind for a reason =]
