Easily now my favourite class on gold. Usually use him whenever a friend or stranger uses an asari adept. They usually don't notice the reave sound when the screen is filled with biotic explosions anyways lol. You'd be surprised at just how much more survivability you get from his rank 6 fitness, that speed boost is especially important when there are three atlases and phantoms closing on your position and you need to make a mad dash to somewhere else. I'd recommend the 6/3/6/5/6 build. Usually you are just spamming reave and comboing with another biotic. Cluster grenades are amazing for emergencies and spike damage vs bosses. The lack of grenade refills isn't a huge problem when you're the only one using grenades, or at least outrunning the other guy to them. Plus you can always use an ammo pack or two. I like at least 3 points in pull so you can easily handle guardians and lower level enemies on your own. Also pull works on phantoms once you've stripped their barriers.

Don't forget: there is no class in the game--NO class--that can clear a tight group of enemies as fast as Drell Adept. Reave+cluster grenade decimates groups of even powerful enemies, I have saved games so many times by reave+cluster grenade. Reave can't be dodged and neither can the grenades, making it a guarantee to work if you have the target sight in the right spot.

And staying in motion can be kind of cool. Cartwheel past an enemy crowded room and throw a grenade in... feel all matrix like lol.

I was playing with these guys (widow/salarian infiltrator maniacs), and they were making fun of me, because I was using the drell adept. They say it's an awful and weak class...

Is there a particular way to play it?

Get one of your friends to play an asari adept and laugh while the two of you hoard all of the points. At least thats how I convinced the guys I play with that my drell Isn't garbage. However, despite having the awesome reave/cluster nade combo, the drell really needs a good partner to shine

But as adepts go, I prefer Asari. It has stasis for cc, and it's more of a heavy hitter than drell. Warp and throw both specced for combo damage ftw (+100% total).
And as drells go, I MUCH prefer the vanguard. Spec it for melee damage + shotgun, and you're assassinating troops all across the map with your charge+heavy melee. Especially fun vs Cerberus as you get to use pull + shotgun versus Guardians

The drell adept seems cool but.. Pull doesn't seem that useful and I dislike relying on grenades. Reave is great yes, but without warp or throw or something similar the Drell Adept is just inferior to the Asari for me.

It is inferior unless you are playing on a team with other biotics, and they know how to combo off you. At that point it's arguably better. Either way though, it's a solid class. Better than most without a doubt.

yeah get a good light weapon(carnifex is the best choise for me) and what u cant pull - reave it and then continue pumping it with led, until you can pull it or its dead. Its not so hard really... Also the grenades are usefull, but there is no point of getting them above rank 4, fitness too just to rank 4 and maxout everything else.

The drell adept is a completely different beast than the asari adept. With the asari your main goal is CC and containing dangerous enemies with stasis bubble, and using warp/throw for biotic explosions for decent damage. With the drell, your first concern is setting up biotic explosions for teammates. First off, AoE reave is amazing, and makes entire mobs vulnerable to biotic explosions from your allies warps (or your own cluster grenades) for massive dammage. Against larger bosses, the fact that warp and reave detonate each other means a continuous volley between you and your biotic buddy will bring them down fast. Also, reave hits instantly like overload, meaning it can reach enemies much faster than warp/throw could, increasing the rate of bio combos. On gold, any time you have a decent position you should be next to your biotic buddy just spamming reave and bullets between cooldowns.
When things get sticky is where playing the drell gets more interesting however. Now instead of just camping you are using your speed to manuever around, in some cases full on sprinting past enemies if necessary. Just don't get cornered. Always keep in mind where ammo crates are for more nades and always aim your reaves to where your bio buddy is facing. Pull enters in the equasion when you're split up and need to solo some enemies. It staggers even shielded enemies, and is a godsend vs guardians. As I mention earlier, if you find yourself having to solo a phantom or three, AoE Reave/Nade or worst case reave their barriers then pull/reave. Basically, when things are good you are a reave spamming combo buddy, when they are bad you are a hit and run nade collector, dashing and cartwheeling all over the map.

Drell adept is a pretty cool guy. Now if only other biotics would learn to detonate the glowy blue bad guys.
Damn bloody Asaris... Asari with maxed throw can make some real damage with Drell's Reave, but what do we know... Stasis is always better right? Even against atlas and brutes...
