I still play religiously. I just got done with my first AW build run a couple days ago, outstanding fun was had. Starting up a new game now. I have completed about 6 runs think, I don't know how many I've actually started.

Not really "still" playing, but I just recently started playing again. Now on my 4th playthrough (city elf archer) and trying to pick up all the achievements. Will probably be playing this at least until I get hold of Diablo III.

Just finished my first complete playthrough Sunday as a City Elf warrior. (I was the tank) I was highly impressed with the game and how complex it was. Planning on buying Awakening, as well.

I was playing it somewhat regularly, then my HD crashed a couple of weeks ago and wiped out all my data. So... I am going to need to recreate all my characters including <----Portia :)

I love DAO so much that I really have a hard time picking a favorite origin. I know lots of people hate the Fade and the Deep Roads but those are some of my favorite parts of the game, especially with my non-mage characters tossing around Fireballs in the Fade.

As for DA2, getting ready to trade it in so see what I can get for it. The only reason I held onto it was to replay Anders' kiss, lol. Other than that, if I never play it again it will be to soon.

^Lol!  I'd probably do the same -- replaying the game for some things like Ander's kiss, or to talk to Cullen =) had I bought Dragon Age II.

My fiance bought me the Ultimate Edition console version last May for my birthday, and later that year (maybe a few months later) I bought the pc version.   After playing the DAO, he lent me Dragon Age II.  I was really disappointed by the game, though there were a few things I did like about it.   So...I went back playing the game obsessively with two interruptions in between semesters and visits to my fiance.   lol  My fiance sure regretted buying me that game ever since.

I have OCD, so whenever I get interested in something, it's to an obsessive degree; what I mean by that is that I'll pretty much think about the game if I'm not playing it 24-7.  Another thing I do is print a lot of pictures about whatever I'm obsessed about (I haven't done it yet for DAO, strangely) and put them in a notebook scrapbook I had made. Because of how hard it is for me to find pictures online without getting a virus from a website, I got the PC version mainly for the screenshot option :P.

The first class I played in DAO was mage.  I figured that if I like playing casters in WoW, I'm most likely going to like playing as a mage.  I liked it so much that later, after playing a female Cousland rogue, I played as a mage two or three times in a row.

My favorite story was definitely the dwarf noble's; I think I'm overplaying the mage one to be my favorite especially now that I've played all but two origins (at least on the console; I have a bit of ways to go to play all of the stories on the pc)..   On both console and pc, I still have to play the whole game as a dwarf commoner.  It was only a few months ago when I played as a female dwarf noble rogue for the first time.  The first one and the whole beginning for the second time, subconsciously [at the time I was playing] I cried  at the same spot ><.  Out of all of the stories, this story drew me in the most, where I felt like I was the character, as weird as that sounds.

The rest I liked in this order--though I'm reconsidering my position on the Couslands:
[females]
2. City Elf
3. Elf Mage
4. Dalish Elf
5. Cousland

So far I've made female characters except for one; a human mage.  I thought, since his name matches the name of the character have in another game, also a magic user, and one who is the opposite of Don Quixote (he condemns all magic and magic users a few times in the book, I might as well carry over my character's motives and personality that I have based my original two Dun Quixotes, and make a mage.  I was considering making him a warrior and a dwarf commoner, since I needed to unlock the achievement at the time.

I've picked it up recently. Playing through it for the 15th time... just ordered the Ultimate Edition and will play through that when it gets here. Love the game. I pick it up every now and then when i get bored of Warcraft... I could play it forever.

On a side not, has anyone seen the Dragon's Dogma game? It's set to be the GOTY 2012... it looks epic! It's supposed to be the nearest thing to Dragon Age: Origins you can get without playing Dragon Age. I'll be buying it and giving it a bash

I'll be honest Dragon's Dogma puts everything about DA:O to shame from the looks of it... The combat looks amazing, especially the Mage (seems more interactive). My first thoughts were "Oh it's made by Japanese... it's going to be extremely difficult and not very appealing to me." But it is just the opposite :D.

Oh man, that sucks.  If it makes you feel any better, I intentionally deleted my characters on my Ultimate Edition for Xbox 360, so I'd have room for more characters (I had run out of space when I was still playing the console version); now I regret it since I am only playing the PC version. ><

I know what you mean in your second comment.  Personally, I used to hate the Deep Roads and the whole process of getting the dwarves to promise to help the Wardens' fight against the Darkspawn.  But, once I played a Dwarf Noble, I actually looked foward to going to Orzammar; however, I still get creeped out with Ortan Thaig--because of the spiders, and the Dead Trenches because of Hespith's chant and the broodmother.  I mute the sound until I'm far enough away from her to not be able to hear her chant.

I don't mind going in the Fade -- mostly because it's more XP and so I can get my second spec faster. :P  Whether I like something or don't really matters now if I am in a hurry to get to do certain things like having my Cousland get married and/or meeting Zevran so I can have my character fall in love with Zevran and be in love with Alistair even at the end of the game (if you think that's bad, you should see how I play the Sims games when I used to play it more often XD).  I almost always have something different I want to try out with each new file.  I just recently made a warrior and hopefully I won't decide to delete it for the fourth or fifth time; the farthest I got with a warrior so far was Lothering before deleting it.  Warrior in this game and in WoW  (melee classes in general for WoW) is difficult for me to get interested in; but now I think I know why--by picking the wrong skills or talent tree to level up with [it's too late now to change my interest in WoW, but not in DAO -- hopefully not that is].  Maybe I'll try a tank build in awakening; just not in DAO.

I played a little on first release, tried a few starts and got distracted by other games. Came back about 3 months ago, discovered the mod scene here and at the Nexus... and have over 100 mods now and playing six characters simultaneously. Skyrim still in its sealed cover, lol!

Started playing it in December 2009, never really stopped. :D The only time I stopped in a sense was when my computer stopped working and needed to be serviced.  I still remember the number of times I woke up in the morning and decided "No college for me today, Ferelden needs me!" Lots of amusement to my friends- none whatsoever for me the next day in class. Anyway- brilliant game. I even love the bugs it has got. B) It is that awesome.

I'm still waiting to see if they will cave in and release an Ultimate Edition of sorts for DA2. I don't see the point in buying the game and dowloading the DLCs when I can get the whole thing on discs packed neatly into one cool box. If not, I'll cave.. :?

I was very excited when DA2 came out... Then I played it. It was like a sick joke. Haven't touched it since.
Started a new game on Da:o a couple days ago. I don't know how it's even possible but Arcane Warrior is even more fun the second time!

I'm still playing it. Currently enjoying my dalish elf rogue. Thinking of making a Dwarf Commoner 2h next. Although every time i play i still regret buying the used version of the game at the recommendation of the gamestop clerk. Ended up with no blood armor or DlC just to save those dam $5 while the game still ended up paying $60 in taxes. Only DLC on me is Return to Ostagar. witch i still enjoy.

I picked it up again recently. My first character sacrificed herself so I've still not played Awakening although I bought it on release. I prefer playing a mage but am currently trying a Cousland rogue to see what it's like not to be dumped by Alistair. :D

Although it may not seem to make any sense, it is possible to import a character that was sacrificed in DAO into the Awakenings campaign.

When you start Awakenings, it will ask if you want to import a character from another module.  Just choose the option that allows you to do that.  The character will be magically become alive again.

Hello me. How am i doing? Yeah me too.

So yeah. Currently on a City Elf archer rogue I have yet to decide on a set party composition (I usually play with one set of companions through the whole game, much like Baldur's Gate.)

My next run will be a Sword and Board Common dwarf warrior along with Wynne, Zevran and Lel. I haven't had Zev or Lel in the party since my first run.

This will bring my grand total up to 5 runs since nov. 09.

Only thing wrong with awakening is that you can't import the choices of a dead warden and just play the Orlesian... Would have been nice.

Ha. I just finished my first playthrough. Got frustrated and took couple of breaks from the game. I promised not to play ME3 before DA:O is finished. What did I do after the completion of the game? I started right away playing Dragon Age again. ME3 remains untouched.

I play both, DAO and DA2 from time to time - when I like a game, I return to it often (like Baldurs Gate 1 & 2, KOTOR 1&2, and Vampire Bloodlines)

About a third of the way through a second playthrough after nearly two years away, and it's still just as much fun.

My first time through I was a Dwarven Noble. This time, playing a Human Noble and seeing Orzammar as an 'outsider' proved interesting. My favorite race in all of fantasy are Dwarves and it took me awhile to appreciate the nuanced approach to their culture that DAO examines. They're still honorable and proud but more realistic in their outlook. And although I do not necessarily like their social stratification, it makes sense for these Dwarves to behave that way.

Next up is Awakenings, looking forward to my first time through.

I started up a a new game last week after not playing for a year. Having a blast.

I tried the same thing with Dragon Age 2 and couldn't work up the resolve to play past the first act

Depressing and boring springs to mind....da2 just seems so blah...where as DA:O is miles better, especially the darkspawn textures they look horrible in da2.

After many playthroughs on Xbox I just bought it for the mac. Started my first PC (it is identical to PC version as far as I can tell) run through just a few days ago. I'm loving it mostly, though a few things were better on Xbox, mostly it is HUGE improvement for my favorite game ever.

I am only using no helmet mod, after this run through, I will try some mods.

Man, I love this game. 10 playthroughs or so, no end in sight. (what a difference to the 1 1/2 DA2 plays I did, bored silly by the end)
