I just played DA:O for the first time like a week ago! Reminds me of Baldur's Gate. Although I wish there was still the option to see what everyone was casting/abilities during combat. Also I miss the spell and counter spells that were available.

i must admit, i didn't play DA:O for about two or three months, because i am playing other games. But yesterday, i decided to go back to DA:O and create a new character, female Human Noble, just basic Sword and Shield, and i play up to killing the the Orge at Tower of Ishal...there...the feeling...the emotional...the...i don't know how to describe...i feel so sentimental along the way....
Although i give so many critics about DA:O before all these time, i must admit that DA:O is the best game i ever play...no other games give me the sentimental feeling similar to DA:O...the back story, the environment, the atmosphere, the interactions...nothing like DA:O....
I think i want to create another character, and play to the finish

I have been replaying all Bioware games since KOTOR and will start DA:O soon, the last great Bioware game of their golden age before the fEall.

I actually just picked the game back up this week. I've been playing off and on over the last year since I beat the game. There is something very magical about going back through and playing as different characters, so to speak, and choosing different dialog options. And I'll admit it. . .giving the staple characters (alistair, morrigan, zev) makeovers adds a whole other level of newness to the game.

Seeing i wasn't the only one, i also came late to the DA (ME) party most likely because i had the most time consuming 'hobby' called WoW which clouds your judgement on everything else.
I purchased DA2 (with free ME2 key) and started playing i had absolutely no idea what to expect. And i liked it, finished DA2 several times and decided to get DA:O Ultimate (1 with all dlc+awakening) and ME 1 (3,75 on steam or something).
However when i played DAO i was like WTF is this and not in a bad way really, i was wondering how DA2 came to be when DAO was so much better in almost every way. But that's another story.
And yes i still play DAO+Awakening+Witch Hunt. I've done Human Mage/Elf Mage, Dalish Rogue and just now finished Human Noble. Next up City Elf.
To me DA:O is either 'The Best' game in the genre, sure i played Skyrim but there your just an anonymous guy alone in a big world instead of 1 guy/girl with many friends

I was recently talking to a gamer friend of mine about our all time favorite games, no contest for top spot for me was DA:O, he had only played a few hours of it so I convinced him to give it a shot. We spent this last weekend playing together and it is still amazing after 200+ hours exploring every possible thing in the game. He also loves it and is blown away by the complexity of it and amazing story. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy DA2 anyway near as much and only did 1 play-through, like the previous poster I understand when he thought WTF, How did they take an amazing tactical RPG game like Origins and turn it into a button mashing, no choice action/rpg game like DA2?? I completely got the feel that most changes made were to increase sales to a generic gaming audience, people who might have thought Origins too complicated or difficult. Instead of increasing sales for DA2 they managed to ****** off a lot of the people who LOVED origins and create a much more generic/bland game. Hopefully, if there is a DA3 they will listen to fans of the original game and not try to pander to a wider audience or dumb down the game further.
After completing my 7th play-through of origins with my friend, I intend to go through awakening a couple times, then I might consider buying another used copy of DA2 (I kept Origins and Awakening knowing I would want to play them several more times in the future, but sold my DA2 copy after one playthrough if that says anything). I'm hoping that the shock I got from playing through DA2 will have worn off and I can appreciate the game a little by accepting it will never be able to live up to my expectations as a sequel to DA:Origins...

Still playing. Just finished my one (and only) mage run. I usually play rogues.....I just enjoy them more. Bought DAO when it first came out on the xbox (pc gaming was not an option for me....old computer); played it to death. Bought Awakenings, then replaced my old copy DAO for the UE. Bought DA2 new (yup; enjoy that too, and still play it as well). Bought another copy of DA2 when my other copy got scratched to hell. Then my husband informed me he was planning on buying me a new desktop for my upcoming birthday, so what the hell.......went and bought DAO: UE and DA2 for the PC. Fairly certain that means I will continue to play this game for some years to come.

i just play multiplayer with my friends...really just with them. i got enough points for secret and, but to be honest, i don't want to play through london again. don't go for the end again, even if i could get it. just sometimes a little in garrus romance because this one is ok.
my thanemancer is still stucked in game and i think she will never finish...what's a pit, because she's my favourite one

Dragon Age Origins is like a very good book. I have to go back and replay it every once in awhile. It's a great game!

I still play a lot actually .... I just got the ultimate edition for the PC. Had Ultimate and my collectors edition on PS3, along with DA2, I just made the switch over to hard core PC gaming at the beginning of this year, and Dragon Age is still my favorite series. Origins of course, being the best ;P lol

I'm still playing, or rather, have recently started playing. I bought this over DA2. Did I make the right decision?

Oh yes you did. =) Personal opinions vary, but DA:O is widely regarded to be the vastly superior game.
And if nothing else, it's good to play the series in order as Origins explains most of DA2's content.

Can't stop playing DA:O.
All of the different Warden stories make this game impossible to put down, and there's not a character in the party that I genuinely dislike. In fact I've probably developed too much emotional investment in them.
It's too bad the DLC are over. I can only hope we find out what Morrigan is really up to... and I'm crossing my fingers that Zevran gets more action (*cough*inbed*cough*) in DA3.

Got back into it the last week or so with a Dwarf Noble Warrior. I havn't played it since before Skyrim came out but one thing I love about the DA series especialy DAO is the squad based tactical combat.
