I don't think we have to worry about banning if we only modify SP as per

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/344/index/9917845/1#10089473

To clarify,

Scylla was correct and I was correct. Scylla's answer was more broadly based in that if you modify your SP and it has no game changing effects to your/others multiplayer experience (say for example, granting you x amount of credits or making a weapon x times more powerful) then there is no problem with this. My answer was poorly worded and I apologize for that - I was aiming to answer a couple questions I had received via PM (the same two questions from many different users) as well as support what Scylla said.

As mentioned by Scylla, you will not be banned for modifying your files *unless (and this is where my intention was) they give you an unfair advantage in any multiplayer aspect of the game.

Still would be smart however to go back to the original file when you play online even if you haven't changed MP.

Also I have been playing for a week with a modded SP and have not been banned nor do I know of anyone who has.

Great! Thanks for the information :)

I do switch back to original before I play MP. Not that I play MP much anymore.

Gonna try this out over the weekend. My GPU fan is broke now and I'm waiting for a replacement, so hopefully it will be here by Friday.

This is great.
Thank you so much.
Playing a vanguard is much more like the ME2 experience-shotgun in the face and spatial awarenesss.
Having squadmates that increase your power recharge helps a lot.
i felt however that it is a little bit harsh for my engineer-he really depends on the powers.
I propose maybe a different limit for the cooldowns( + 140% -140%), that way the weapons are not too owerpowerd( calymore is king in your version)-however i have to play a bit with that limit it is the olny thing to do.

I am not sure if xbox 360 uses the same file or how to get it to work, sorry

Good news, the more players try this out the better it gets for everyone!

Glad you like it.
Good weapon balance is tough to achieve, but I think it is already better than vanilla game. Claymore in particular is getting another weight increase in the next version, might increase reload speed by a bit too.
Also, Incinerate will have slighly faster CD. At what point in the game are you? You should get pretty good cooldowns (though slower that in the original game) once you use the proper armor parts, select recharge speed bonuses from Liara etc.

If you could provide more feedback, that would be great!

What did you receive the strike(s) for? Playing with this should be OK as long as you switch back to original file before you play MP.

I've got both strikes almost at same time, one from a video that I've uploaded back in 2007 and only know sony japan made a complain about it and the second one was on a Dead Space 2 video...made by EA(figures...). So I'm kinda waiting to see if anything else get's reported too. I might aswell make a new youtube account already ;P.

I'll try this on my Infiltrator save later.

This would be very enjoyable to play..if I had it for pc and not xbox.. I would love a harder challenge.

Insanity was incredibly fun though - but towards the end of the game (not counting the horrible ending level with all the banshees..but even then..it's more about surviving than killing everyone) the game got a tad easier. Especially if you're an adept w/ Liara and Javik/Kaidan...my word..the explosions..

Spectre Status Recognized :DD

They should add this achievement to the XBOX 360 achievement list once coalesced.bin mods become available:

Achievement Unlocked
Spectre Status Recognized - Completed Mass Effect 3 on Spectre difficulty without changing the difficulty setting.

-----------------------------------------------

I just tried v0.22 and tried out the different weapon loadouts. I love how even at the minimum encumbrance(+100%), Charge still has a long cooldown (~5 seconds) compared to vanilla ME3. And then I tried the other extreme (-100%) and the cooldown shot up to over 20 seconds. I'm unsure whether if these cooldowns are too long, since you are carrying lots of ammo, but on the other hand, I don't think anyone would carry more than 2 or 3 weapons.

For example, I've built my Coalesced.bin file so that an Adept can still pull off biotic detonations even at -100% encumbrance (all 5 weapon loadout). Of course, they would have to properly spec in duration powers. I'm wondering, Kronner, is it still possible for an Adept to create biotic detonations even at max encumbrance?

I tried an Adept at max encumbrance and it was fairly decent due to Liara's Singularity. Sometimes I managed to detonate my own Singularities if an enemy walks into it after a few seconds have past. Also, if you get all 5 pieces of power recharge speed armor, you can probably pull off detonations yourself normally. Though this may require you to build on power duration also.

Still, would like to see other people's input on playing on max encumbrance with other classes.

Yeah, Vanguard with Charge cooldown around 5s is still playable, but there is much smaller room for error. I really like it so far. I suppose Vanguard with -100% recharge bonus does expect that in that case Charge will not be a viable offensive tool :D
You could still use Charge defensively though and snipe/use AR etc from distance.

Yes, but not on her/his own (unless you really go for all armor parts etc.). Adept now needs squadmates to effectively pull of biotic bombs. That's why I went back to default setting for the power of biotic explosions. They are still very powerful, but not possible to do every 2s anymore (well at least I hope so, maybe I overlooked something)-

Stardusk's been playing Engineer and Soldier a lot, I've been focusing on Vanguard and Infiltrator for now. Played Adept only through few missions, same goes for Sentinel.

I think max. encumberance builds are not very effective even in vanilla game (except for tanks, like Sentinel+Defense Matrix), but I tried to compensate for that by making weapons better (reload speed, extra damage for SMGs and ARs).

I'll be testing the Adept and Sentinel then. Will try to post up videos in a few days.

By the way, how should I layout the videos? Should I include conversations and cinematics? Squad banter? In-depth look at power builds? Armor parts?

Love this mod so far.

Did Tuchanka Cerberus Mission with my Burst+Revenant Vanguard which worked surprisingly well still even with the burst nerfs.

Then I did the Rachni mission with a Claymore. Claymoring was very fun. Don't know if it was OP or not. Still had to think alot more than normally, but people are saying it dominated. I don't think so because it seemed just as effective as my revenant run.

Looking foward to see what changes in the future.

Tested 0.22 on Vanguard

Vanguard, I have a loadout that gives my Charge a 4.87 sec cooldown, didnt use Nova. Level tested Cronos Station.

Overall, power and weapon is much more well balance.

It is definitely nicer than my last experience with 900 radius grenade :P.

It is also nice that Enemies now have ShieldGate so that I cant OSOK Centurions.

I am using a shotgun and GPR.... The GPR still blows everything away. I mostly charge to take up better positions and the GPR still grinds everything down from a distance lol. I think that silly gun is broken XD

It maybe just me but... shotgun reload is a little bit too fast imo. It is like once you hit "R" you can roll nearly immediately and continue shooting. But I suppose that is to compensate the weaker Charge and stronger enemy. Tis still very fun and it is almost like ME2.

SMGs... umm... still the most useless gun... basically if you have the GPR, there is no reason to carry a SMG.

Maybe we can make fun weapons nearly weightless and practical weapons heavier. GPR is a monster but it is light, it should be heavier imo. Scorpion is not really very useful but it is very fun to see enemies bouncing in mid air. IMO, the Scorpion should be lighter.

Another idea, make Assault Riffle's reload time longer so only Soldiers can take full advantage of them with adrenalin rush.. maybe?

Grenade spam increase?

Very risky, it's what made CoD:WaW veteran not hard, but plain frustrating in hoping you could avoid the 7 grenades chucked at you, before the enemies flanked you (as they ignored all friendly CPU's).

The Grenade spam isn't bad. Probably was worse with the double range. Not too mention enemies chuck grenades a ton at your allies too.

I have a question about the tech armor/defense matrix final evolution. One of the choices is to decrease the cooldown penalty to 50%. But since the new percent is 60, will you change that particular evolution to something else? If you keep the same ratio as the vanilla, the new percent would be 37.5%.

As long as it is not 900 radius and causing me to die to a grenade that was thrown at someone else on the otherside of the room they can throw as many as they like
