Nice going Blizzard, I almost started to reconsider buying your games again.

Yes, let's get upset over a simple April Fool's joke.

I am not upset. The joke was pretty decent.

Hah! It's funny because it's Blizzard! Lord of Milkers, Master of ****ty games!

They can't make fun of this... it's only recently that they are *finally* releasing DIablo 3 (May this year)

The only ****ty, milking game they made, as far as I know, is WoW.

Starcraft and Diablo are absolutely stellar franchises. At least they don't release until it's actually finished and polished to a spit-shine. Hell, I've been playing the Diablo 3 Beta ever since it went live in Europe and it is fantastic. And Starcraft 2: Amazing fun, excellent story. They put a lot of effort into it.
Visibly more than BioWare put into You-Know-What.

I heard the exact opposite about SC2's story...

But they definitely polish their games as long as humanly possible- but in contrast to Blizz, Bioware has no money-printing machine like WoW.

Some people are unhappy with SC2's story, but those are the same sort of people who were unhappy with ME2's story, plus a little.  I mean, people complained that it "ended" happily as if there aren't 2 more games.  Starcraft 1 ended happy too, compared to Brood War.

On another note, DiabloIII was not really in development since 2000.  I'm guessing around 2007.  5 years is long, yes, but was more worth the wait.  DX:HR, meh endings aside, is also extremely polished.

Besides, it's an April Fool's joke.  It's cute they acknowledge the ME3 debacle.  They've made fun of their own stuff plenty in the past, like with the one about customizable mounts.

I love me a good April Fools joke.

The thing is I was gotten in reverse. Initially I was thinking the link was just junk but no Blizz still has their sense of humor at times ....

How can Blizzard make fun of people who release games? They rarely do.

ps: If it was up to Blizzard, we would be playing ME3 by 2022.

...and it would be superior to just about anything that came out that year, 2 or three years after and the previous 10. With the exceptioon of WoW they are all about quality.

In the case of pro-gaming (multiplayer & tournaments & mmo) spending more time in production makes sense. Single player gaming however, is based on different production principles, like storytelling. The more you spend time in production the more you risk falling behind of new achievements/ideas, technical and -forgive me here-  artistic ingenuity^_^ of a much more dynamic industry. That's why single player mode of Starcraft 2 quickly become not very appealing.

Meanwhile, I sense the dangerous taint of off-topicness upon some of us here.

Actually you're quite wrong regarding the singleplayer mode of SC2. The designs and levels are not the issue, and  most people find them to be excellent. The main problem some guys had with the singleplayer part, was the characters being different, some quite obvious plotholes and for most people the reason was the dialogue being stupid and corny. Yeah some people dislike all the singleplayer parts, but they're definitely a minority. Worth mentioning is also the terran missions have always been quite straight forward and never the most interesting, and I am positive the SC2 expansion coming out next playing as zerg will be way more popular.

Anyway most people are still very interested in the story, and the mystery regarding the Dark Voice (I don't know if you've played the game though!), and you can see tons of topics discussing all of this. And most of the missions are praised and easily replayable. Also keep in mind in SC2 you can replay every mission whenever you feel like, without having to start the game all over or loading an earlier save.

To sum it up, the 'hate' regarding SC2 SP is not based on the missions or the main plot itself.

Blizzard always crack multiple April fools gags every year. It was funnier when people believed them however - I still remember the wisp race gag or even the introduction of the Pandaren into WC3. Good times.

The fact they and Mojang both aimed one at BioWare just goes to show this debacle has permeated absolutely everywhere in the games industry by now.

No great game is worth waiting +10 years. No one agrees with this?

If you look at some of Blizzard's games... People still play Starcraft 1 and Diablo 2 today. Starcraft 2 is the top candidate for the highest profile e-sport game worldwide. These games have probably the most replayability of any games ever made. They're insanely long lasting, so yeah, they are worth waiting 10+ years for.

Perhaps, but we'd also have a complete game then.

I find it absolutely hilarious that some people feel the need to attack one of the few companies left that develops a game till it is done. Blizzard has always had stellar releases. Quality takes time to produce. Devs not taking their time to get every last thing right leads us to things like the ME3 ending.

It's funny, but i hate blizzard for ruining warcraft with wow and the whole lore by killing arthas in the hands of some sterotype warhammer hero. THEY KILLED IT.

That reminds me of something....Bioware...don't do the same would you :D?

You know I think this community is like a family that fights with each other. We may scrap amongst ourselves but god help someone outside the family that attacks us. Then the ranks close and the united front is on.

Nope, I'd rather have it polished to perfection.  You didn't learn anything from this whole ME3 fiasco, did you?

I like seeing a nice little shot at Bioware potentially redoing the ending just because fans whined. Good job, Blizzard. Now get D3 and HOTS released already damnit.

My main problem with SC2 is that the plot is too cliche, corny, and dare I say childish. The gameplay is fun and lives up to usual Blizzard polish.

For what it's worth, I liked ME2 both gameplay-wise and story-wise. I only wish I could say the same about ME3.

No need to jump straight from disapproval of +10 years long production periods to extremely rushed production. I'm fond of neither.

If Bioware had announced last year they were delaying ME3 for like ten years, wouldn't we have started raging just as we are now.

Yeah mass effect 3 in 2022 but I'd probably still be playing me2 2012-2022 cause blizz knows how to make games that keep you playing for a long time.
