The only ****ty, milking game they made, as far as I know, is WoW.

Starcraft and Diablo are absolutely stellar franchises. At least they don't release until it's actually finished and polished to a spit-shine. Hell, I've been playing the Diablo 3 Beta ever since it went live in Europe and it is fantastic. And Starcraft 2: Amazing fun, excellent story. They put a lot of effort into it.
Visibly more than BioWare put into You-Know-What.

You my friend are going to be pleasantly suprised when D3 is actually released then. Almost tragically suprised.

And just so you don't misunderstand RTS games are far more easy to develop then any other genre of video game.

How can Blizzard make fun of people who release games? They rarely do.

ps: If it was up to Blizzard, we would be playing ME3 by 2022.

I think you mean Valve. Blizzard is fairly speedy compared to content released. And tbh I prefer my games finished.

Cutting content from the game to make the release date = polish.

Taking 10 years a title that isn't a WoW expansion, having systems and graphics that are outright archaic. Shoehorning DRM and a real money auction house into a series that supported single player just fine the previous two iterations (yes I know the anti cheat claim but if you think there won't be dupes and map hacks day 1 in Diablo 3's retail, you're crazy). Yeah color me unimpressed with Blizzard. They're right up there with Valve for most over rated developer in the entire industry.

Pre-Abyssea, FFXI was a much better MMO than WoW ever was. Now though it's kinda been dumbed down to the point of absurdity but I've played FFXI, WoW and EVE and only the first was worth continuing to pay for imo.

Not a Blizzard fan by any means, but that was still a sick burn on the post game DLC line.

Multiple endings, each influenced by your choices and color-coded for your convenience! (Further epic endings planned for post release as downloadable content.)

If you look at some of Blizzard's games... People still play Starcraft 1 and Diablo 2 today. Starcraft 2 is the top candidate for the highest profile e-sport game worldwide. These games have probably the most replayability of any games ever made. They're insanely long lasting, so yeah, they are worth waiting 10+ years for.

I like that Blizzard are happy making a joke, but sadly I don't think much of them either. Their fanbase is made up of a lot of gamers who frankly... play their games because they don't know any better, and don't want to.

Still, it did make me chuckle.

Amusing. But Blizzard is no saint or savior. They're terrible with sexism and lack of diversity in their games, not to mention that terrible homophobic Blizzcon video they slapped up this past fall. No thanks.

Not sure if folks releasing a Panda expansion should be making fun of anyone...

Yes. RTS games lasting a long time. Suprised face inc... :o

SC2 came how many years after Brood Wars? And was how vastly different. Oh wait it wasn't.

Your comments about them are interesting since they didn't gain that reputation until WoW had been out for at least two years.  And yet BioWare seems determined to steal that title...

It should. SC2 on sheer size of the population forces Blizzard to be almost infalable with it. Could you imagine what would happen to them if they lost the Korean market for SC2?

Apples to Oranges arguements don't work.

If this was an apples to oranges issue, you would be right.  But it's not.  And SC2's player base is not primarily Korean.

Funny that many of the same people complaining about Mass Effect 3 are complaining about Blizzard "never releasing" games. Well, Blizzard doesn't rush games, even if it pisses people like you off, and for good reason. You know all those complaints you have about ME3? That's what happens when you run out of time and only give yourself a set-date to release a sequel. They delayed it what, 3 months? That's not a lot of time and probably had to do with balancing/tweaking the multiplayer. We know it wasn't spent fixing the face-import bug, or re-writing/expanding the ending in a satisfactory manner.

So yes. Blizzard takes a lot of time between games. I for one am glad for it and wish Bioware took another six months, or even a year, to fix Mass Effect 3. The whole Earth sequence could have been epic...but it just fell flat and led to Starchild. Where were the hard decisions? The friends who give their lives to give you a chance? The ability to command my war assets and see them in action? What was the Normandy up to?

Blizzard only took so long with SC2 because they needed to get to a stable point where they could still work on WoW -and- do Starcraft 2. Then it took them a while to get that new and 'innovative' battle.net 2.0 up, which is just an attempt to push the e-sport mentality while also trying to be 'casual friendly'.

Blizzard games these days have all the complexity of being facebook games. So no, they have no room to talk down to another company.

Yeah, ok... Let's be honest, Diablo 2 still has a good chunk of people going back to it. I've probably gone back and forth from Diablo 2 about 6 or 7 times. If they don't make another Mass Effect, I can't see any of the Mass Effects being around for a decade.

How is it not apples to oranges? SC2 is the most touted e-sport game in gaming culture. Twitch does how many SC2 tourny's? You can' t even compare ME as a series to SC:BW for fan base.

And no Korea isn't the primary region for Sc2. But it is the most competative.
