It might be an esport game but the story is the worst thing that ever happened to the video game industry... and by that I also mean that even ME3 endings were better in comparsion...

also the fact that they did or are doing the Panda expansion for WoW is such a smack to the face from what I heard.., never played it, but it seems as much shallow as AvP 2010 game

The story od SC2 isn't that bad, especially for an rts game. SC1 was revolutionary in that sense since it was the first rts where the story continued between the factions, making it much more enjoyable to play through all factions. SC2 is good enough continuation to Brood War, although clearly it's more about the individual missions (which often do a have nice little twist in them) linked loosely to the each other. Ending was good enough as well, definitely better than me3, probably because it didn't try to spark "lots of speculation".

Haven't played wow in a few years, but clearly they are running out of ideas when they are bringing pandas in.. it's an old game and mmo market does need a new crown.

man.. if Blizz handled the ME franchise... we'd be playing a flawless game. and people will praise the ending. in 2020. or something. would still be worth it though.

I don't think we would be....

Not for the storyline though..

The thing about Blizzard games is that the storyline ALWAYS serves the gameplay...same goes for the lore as well.

Take the ME1 transition from overheating to thermal clips in ME2. Bioware actually tried to explain it by incoprorating it into the lore but Blizzard wouldn't even bother...See the Dranei (really, can anyone make sense of their lore these days?). Blizzard will always focus on the gameplay first and foremost.

If Blizzard was in charge of ME, the actual combat mechanics would be polished to a fine sheen, but the story itself and the characters? I honestly would be surprised if we were given a 1/3rd of what we have with any of the ME games...

I'll state up front that I lie Blizzard games but it definitely isn't for the characters/world/lore

Blizzard is horrible in story telling.
Since 'wrath of lichking', they basically wipe out entire lore of warcraft3. But this joke is amazing, simply ME3' endings is equally horrible.

Blizzard throwing stones in a glass house for April 1? I liked it better when they made fun of their own games.

We wouldn't be in this situation if Bioware had taken their time right? If we would be looking at 2015 release no ending fiasco, much more significance on the choices you made etc. I would have waited for that, maybe release ME2 expansion (DLCx3) while waiting and people would've been happy.

There's no false dichotomy between EA and Blizzard. It's more like examples of two ends of a spectrum. EA is on one end, Blizzard is on the other end. I'm pretty sure there are some who wish that EA's games were closer to Blizzard's end of the spectrum without quite getting to the point where we'd be waiting 12 years for the next ME game.

Re: EA versus Bliz
I have found it amazing how things so polarized against each other often end up with the same result.

Problem is that have released only 1/3rd of a game since WoW came out so I think they have run out of material for their own stuff.

They can't make fun of this... it's only recently that they are *finally* releasing DIablo 3 (May this year)

I'm sure it'll be fun but it's been so long since I played D2.  I'm just not hyped for D3 in the slightest.

As for the jab at BW, it is humorous to be sure though given the reputation Blizzard has with gamers and their exceptionally long developement times... it's sort of a pot meet kettle moment.

How is this a pot kettle moment, BW is catching **** for a rushed ending, Blizz takes to long. WTH do gamers want these days. cant be to long, cant be to short. All the goldilocks wil get eaten by the bears one day.

I would be fine waiting for as long as it takes for good games, and hell I'm sure D3 will be really good, I just wont be buying it becuase the DRM is unaceptable.

EVE Online blows WoW out of the water.

No, because this is not the same kind of game : and I don't especially appreciate wow and his future expansion...

But I have friends playing EVE and for me, from the outside, it's more like simcity going space, with a  pvp very hasardous, and lot of farming to have the best ships/gears...

My opinion, for sure!

JPR out!

How is it simcity going space? Did your friends do nothing but planet stuff? Its a PvP centric game and I can tell by the "farming for best ships/gears" that your friends are just missioners/PvE runners. EvE Online is about PvP.

From what I've seen of Diablo 3, it was time well spent.  I like Blizzard's model, I don't mind waiting 10 years when what comes out is premium quality.

That it appears that Blizzard hasn't succumbed to the leech that is Activision, they deserve props. I just wonder how long they can resist Kotick.

Both seemingly take their fans for granted and for one to make fun of a fault of the other when it has ample faults with its fans as well is just... well,, hypocrisy comes to mind is all.

It is funny) And those endless titles) Don't want to argue on Blizz vs BW, I deeply respect both. And I think that Blzrd is good in character writing too. Zeratul, Raynor, Kerrigan, Arthas, Illidan, Grom - all of them are great, for RTS genre especially. And they've never ruined the endings :) The ending of Diablo2 was really awesome imo, and so was SC2 ending.

****ty games? Pretty much every game blizzard has made is a good game. At least compared to Bioware, they have fared alot better. Id say they have a pretty good track record.

Yeah, and it's probably the reason why it will be good aswell. They took a long time to make SC2 and guess what, it's was good.

I don't see your point, feels like you just shot yourself in the foot.

Fixed.

If Blizzard were in charge and took 8 years or more (as they're known to do) we'd probably have gotten everything we want, including multiple epic endings, large consequences for large decisions, seeing Rachni and Korgan smashing into reaper forces; you know, the stuff Bioware's marketing actually promised us?

Even if Bioware fixes the endings, I'd still say the game doesn't live up to its full potential.  Although I'd still give it a 9/10 due to the time they had, I'd rather them take an extra year or two and make a 10+/10.

Multiple color coded and unfulfilling endings!

Even more endings via revolutionary Democratic DLC™!

Too specific and hilarious to be random. Good one, Blizzard.
