1. Leave EA.
2. Get Drew back
3. Sign deal with valve to release all future (And past) Bioware products on steam.
4. Apologize to fans.
5. Profit

1) apologize to the fans
2) find person responsible and fire them
3) take steps necessary to make sure quality control is as good as financially viable to avoid repeating mistake
4) if developing sequels: create test groups composed of fans of the previous game to ensure acceptability.
5) would consider ways to remain independent as a company to guarantee as much control over the development process as possible.

If we were trying to "fix" the ending:

6) hire back original writers of ME1 and ME2 to brainstorm possible scenarios/develop them.

Quit EA. They are the worst publisher to team up with, since they don't care about quality.

See which publisher would be interested to give "us" the freedom to develop a game to a high level of quality before they even ask about a preliminary release date. Valve and Blizzard employees remember how it is to work like that.

Focus on good games. There's enough ****ty ones already. Consider a proper remake of Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 (cause the ending is bad but there's more wrong with it than that and it could have been so much better). Fulfill all the promises, make it amazingly good and people will be more than willing to pay for it (again).

this^ oh and get drew back defs!

If I owned Bioware? I would have given EA the finger when they tried to buy it out. THen I would have taken a Half-Life 3 stance on ME3. Tell them to take thier time and not accept any less than 20 different endings.

Then afterwards I'd tell them to make the sequel to Sonic: The Dark Brotherhood. (Good luck on that ever happening).

I'd make sure we didn't give false promises ever again. Then, I'd announce Indoctrination Theory is true, admit that it didn't give enough closure, then demand EA pay for the development of a true ending+epilogue. If EA refused, I'd cancel the contract ASAP. The DLC would be free, and would consist of many possible endings. The endings would range from sappy to depressing, depending on EMS/decisions/player preference.

Don't know really. I'd like to think I would have had the self respect to remain independent and never sell out to the likes of EA.

But I don't know. Had I had TOR in development with costs ballooning, and someone came in with an offer of over a quarter BILLLION dollars to buy my company......I honestly don't know.

Of course, after selling out then it's I don't own it anymore and nothing else matters-so everything would hinge on the above decision.

In that regard, is Bioware still listed as one of Canada's top 100 companies to work at anymore? Just wondering.

Everyone in this thread who says "leave EA" doesn't know how the business world works.

BioWare can't leave EA. BioWare is a part of EA now as much as your heart is a part of you / your body.

BioWare = EA

I would ask the person who wrote the ending for their resignation.

No wait, scratch that.  I would ask the person who approved that ending for their resignation.

First, find out people responsible for ending.

Have their asses on silver plate.

Release public "We are sorry, we screwed up".

Put team working on a new ending.

Check said ending before releasing it.

Repeat step 4 and 5 as necessarily.

I'd remake the series,

ME1: Start the game before you become a N7, introduce characters slowly, how anderson recruits you into in N7 (maybe meet kaiden), training (tutorial into the game) and have the mission that defines your character (war hero etc). Build on the relationships of the crew more, perhaps add more LI like Tali in the first (I prefer Liara) and expand upon it a bit more.
Remove the info on cerberus (its a secret organisation), but give clues to what they are doing, stop some operations but not reveal that it is cerberus. It bugged me that Jake saw your ship and went oh yeah cerberus yet you can go to the citadel and no one arrests you for arriving in a cerberus ship.
I liked going to planet surfaces, improve on that. Also add planets like Thessia and other homeworlds to build upon what you are fighting for (to expand on it more than just your crew) it would be awesome to see the splender of Thessia and then see the destruction to bring home the reality of reaper invasion. The reapers don't rush what they do, they are calculating and methodical so have a slower pace start so you can explore more of the galaxy (the main missions make you feel rushed in a way) but then bring up the pace for the climax.
Bring in customisation of you crew, their armor, their off duty clothes. I did like the fact that crew moved around a bit in ME3.

ME2: I liked ME2 but I missed exploring a planet like in ME1. Again expand the characters, learn more about them since you have a whole lot more. Again there should be some urgancy in the main mission but again collectors like reapers are calculating and methodical they will take their time in what they have planned.
Build up more clues on cerberus before shepard finds out the truth and begins the conflict with the IM. Also build on the arrival dlc

ME3: Have the trial of Shepard for blowing up a system and introduce the new characters (if Vega is your guard/supervisor then have converstaion with him). Make your choices matter (why is Udina councilor instead of anderson or at least explain why he no longer is councilor).
Ending the main threads of the game (geneo stuff was great as was the quarian/geth conflict). Make take back the earth like take back the earth, more conflict. I'd remove the starchild and add a final confortation with harbinger (for me it is the main villain). I liked the part with anderson and shepard at the end (after that it sucked) perhaps end it there with different outcomes of the final battle depentant on what your EMS is and your choices you made (like watching a human/taurian ship in trouble and then all of sudden rachni ship come in a rescue it if you saved the rachni queen)(and yes I would have a "happy" ending if you term happy as billions already dead). Get rid of the bit after credits, but perhaps have scenes of the galaxy rebuilding.

Theres more, but this is what I would have happen if I owned bioware.

Shut the door on this artistic integrity bull real fast. Almost since the dawn of films there have been test screenings . In many cases those screenings have caused the studio in question to change major parts of a film all without the blessing of the creative team behind the movie. Most of the time the test screened film is a finished product. The fact that this is happening after the fact and not before and that it is a game and not a film does not change the fact that this is NOT a new process, it is just one most of us never see on this scale because it is usually done before wide release.

It really seems silly not to test-screen a movie when $200 million is in investment, but also a stuidio's name and its reputation are riding on the line.

Really, why aren't games the same way?

Since games are getting to be as expensive as films If not more so that is a valid question. Secrecy would be the onlyanswer I could see but some vigilance and a good NDA should handle most of that one would hope.

Leave with all the "good" developers and create a new studio and let EA **** out the bioware name on every mediocre product they wish to push

Step 1: Sever ties with EA

Step 2: Reprimand and possibly fire Casey Hudson

Step 3: Make the Indoc Theory canon and release ending DLC containing a real ending and more interesting battle for Earth

Step 4: Go back and try to salvage the Dragon Age series, probably by returning it to it's roots.

All of these people calling for Casey Hudson's head are idiots. Not only has the ME series been his baby (and 99.9% of the series is awesome including ME 3) but he was also an important part of the original KOTOR.

Offer 3 choices, pick one:

1. QUIT EA.
2. LEAVE EA.
3. ABANDON EA.

If EA asks why leave?
answer vaguely if not incoherently...
to allow 'lots of speculations'...

If I owned Bioware, I'd own EA, right? Ooooooo....... I'd give myself a golden parachute and retire. No seriously. The company has to make a profit. The way to do that is to produce quality products. So you let the creative minds go to work doing what they do best. I'm a hands off type of manager. I believe in rewarding high quality, and creating an environment the fosters high employee morale. I want people to want to come to work.

Those people will be motivated to go the extra mile. They'll be creative.

I've worked in a "Dilbert" office. I hated my job.
