Well, I don't care about the ending and don't want that to be what this thread is about. I will say that it is ridiculous to marry the SP game to a constant internet connection if EA's servers are down! I am fine with them authorizing my game but don't punish me for it.

Put Origin in offline mode and disconnect from the internet. It should skip DLC authorization.

Awesome...thanks!  Still a pain, though.

Agreed.  You would think SP games would be able to detect when your internet dies (or the EA server does) and post a message that you can choose to go off line, or exit the game now.  If you go offline your actions will be uploaded when you come back on and that is it.

Yep, pretty much, if you own DLC you are screwed.
I don't see why they don't do what they did with DA:O and DA 2, atleast you can play SP offline.

EA seems to be an increasingly paranoid organisation that views its customers as the enemy, bizarrely.  It's an attitude that's going to take it to bad places.

This basically sounds like UPlay or even Battle-Net. I remember when their service was down for a few days and I couldn't load up Assassin's Creed (Brotherhood or Revelations). The fact that EA is using a persistent DLC authorization makes it even worse since with no "online" connection, you're kinda screwed if you have any DLC loaded (not even Steam or other types of digital gaming services are this bad).

They should just check for DLC once like ME2. Repeated checks are nothing but an annoyance.

Thanks for the heads up will try it out and see if i can play my game next time the servers go down. Really annoying thing to happen when you cant play MP and find out you cant play SP either.
