Yeah it's really retarded, I played through with a soldier, and in almost every single friggin cutscene instead of holding the assault rifle I brought Shepard takes out the Avenger or the pistol....then once when I had the avenger during the scene he had TWO avengers...

I was like wtf Bioware.....wtf.

Oh yes, I had lots of those situations where even the same gun is replaced with the same gun(you can see it equipped).
They obviously didn't bother one bit, completely stripped away everything they did in ME2.

And then a Bioware guy goes on the official forum and says it will be better than before!:wizard::unsure::crying:

Could you make this topic stay for a few days on the first page, shame is far more important than any other topics...

Eh it happened in ME1 2 and 3, Doesn't really bother me at this point. I have bigger issues to deal with!

Like for instance, Why does my current shepard's cheek bones look so damn high!

Personal problem I know but it wasn't like that when I made him!

As much as I dislike nitpicking, I do think it is ok for customers to hold Bioware to their promises. ALL their promises.

Maybe this cutscene thing matters to OP. A lot. Who are you to judge Cicero.me ?

More importantly if Bioware keeps making promises and then falling short, then we DON'T say something then they will think they can get away with it. It is better that we call them on it when they make mistakes.

Don't worry someone will make a mod for this.

Oh wait... They can't because you get banned from Origin for modding single player!

That aside, it was never possible to mod the ME series any deeper than the texture or coalesced level.

That's one of the reasons why people seem to be nitpicking. There is no modding community to iron out even superficial bugs and nuisances.

Do you know if there are any texture mods for armor for ME2, they really look horrible in cutscenes.

Also I wouldn't call a complete lack of consistency in cutscenes(much worse than in ME2) a superfifical minor nuisance.

Did anyone else expect Bioware not being able to add percentages and represent them in single category so now you have intel bonuses looking like this:

weapon damage +5%
power damage +5%
weapon damage +5%
power damage +5%
weapon damage +5%

I totally expected Bioware not being able to do that.

Yep. Adding stuff up at a glance is so hard.

I would like to note, it's not all the time. I remember seeing my Shepard pull out her sniper rifle in some of the cutscenes, not all - but some.

It's also hilarious when Shepard pulls out the right gun, but holds it wrong. My Shepard was holding a Mattock assault rifle like a pistol in one cutscene. Almost spilled my drink.

I specifically remember that a Bioware employee stated on this very forum that weapons Shepard has will be shown in the cutscenes but now it is far worse than in ME2.

You have vindicator, avenger shows up.
You have phalanx, predator shows up.
You have tempest, shuriken shows up.

NOT EVEN FOR THE SAME WEAPON TYPES(which don't require any different animations) which never happened in ME2!

How can they lie so much?! Do they think no one notices this??
After substandard animations compared to ME2 this really takes the cake.

If you have those weapons equipped, they're used in the cutscenes (can even see the mods you've used). So I stopped using anything but the avenger/predator for less immersion breaking. :/

No it didn't. I'm replaying ME1 right now...about to launch the Illos mission and not once has shepard &co. use weapons in cutscenes that weren't equipped on their backs.

As long as, facing an arch enemy, my Shep doesn't pull a beretta and holding it sideways... I'm good.

The funny part (and by funny, I mean pathetic) is that *some* cutscenes are done properly (you use the weapons that you're equipped with), while a lot aren't. Pure laziness from the coders. I would guess it's just a script attached to the cutscene. Something like this:

"player_get_weapon_equip [assaultrifle]" (with "assaultrifle" being the default Avenger)

Whereas the correct one would add a qualifier to the script like:

"Object[assaultrifle] = player_loadout_assaultrifle"

Or something to that effect. So you'd only get the Avenger if you didn't have an assult rifle equipped at all. Ideally, there'd be more conditionals added to check your entire loadout and put a carried weapon in your hands regardless of type. For instance, shotgun Vanguards with no backup weapon would always equip their shotgun for cutscenes. A few extra lines in the cutscene script are apparently too much to ask for though.

People have been complaining about this since ME1. So much for "We're listening", right?

I suggest you take some medication to calm down or fresh air.

Before the vein on your forehead explodes and we have to clear up the mess. :P

To the OP, the game was rushed. There were shortcuts taken all over. Animation, sound design, lip syncing, 'filler dialog' left and right, cramming in too many former squadmates, not enough character development (Javik could be left out entirely), etc, etc......

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. I'm gonna do exactly that in my next playthrough. It's just too jarring.

They should have gone the same road of Dragon Age where a kitchen knife would magically appear in the hand of the character when she kills someone in cutscenes :o

Things change in game development. Odds are they did that because it was easier to do that than the weapons you had equiped. No telling.

That sounds like a good idea in theory. Until you notice that you have an Avenger on your back and another one in your hands. :D

It's strange, because depending on the scene, your Shepard would either carry your loadout weapon or the ludicruous avenger. There is no consistence at all. AT ALL. ;_;
