Well today ME3 servers were down .. so I say well, no multi today. But then I found I can't play singleplayer either, because I bought From Ashes DLC, which requires connection to ME3 servers EVERY TIME you start the game !
So I can't play, because I payed more ? If that is a April joke, it's not a good one ..

If you're connected to the internet it checks for DLC authorization every time. If you're disconnected from the internet, the game skips this step if you activated it at least once. If the ME3 servers are down but you are connected to the internet, you'll get an error. Just turn off your internet hardware and there shouldn't be any problems.

I found this to be a valid workaround, but it should not be necessary. This should be addressed in a patch.

Sadly I think these anti-piracy measures are here to stay.

What exactly is antipiracy about that ? All cracks which showed up on day one had the DLC covered. If I were pirate, I would not have this problem. Still thanks for the info, will try next time servers are down (and also switching Origin to offline mode).

When The Witcher 2 launched it had different versions. One was the digital download from GOG without copy protection, the other was the physical copy that initially had DRM. When CD Projekt discovered that pirates deliberately downloaded and cracked the copy protected version to prove a point, they patched all version of the game so they no longer had any form of copy protection at all. One out five copies is legally acquired, which is horrible, but even with DRM in place these figures would be the same.

They did go on a suing spree but stopped once they discovered they sued the wrong people.
