I always looked forward to mass effect DLC's ever since first playing mass effect and I have all of them for each game. All the armours, weapons, characters and missions. However what always boggled me was, why haven't Bioware made a set of Alliance Commander armour for shepard? Granted he is part of the N7 program but he is still an Alliance Soldier. So I thought I would come on this forum and make a suggestion to Bioware that maybe making Commander Shepard some Alliance or even some Spectre armour might be a good add-on to an already superb game. As much as i am sure that many of the creative people can make and customize Shepard's armour to look good anyway i would like to see Shepard entering combat Blazing in Alliance Blue as he cuts down his enemies or charging through the enemy lines wearing the Spectre badge of honour.
I believe its worth considering and wouldn't mind hearing what other people think of it. Maybe if it gets enough attention and backing, Bioware may include it in the game, maybe even both.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts

Your idea is very valid, and I like it.

However, what we really need in the "armor" department is some new helmet options. From ME2 to ME3 they only gave us THREE new helmet options, one is the most retarded bicycle helmet with a dragonball energy scanner attached to it (securitel helmet) and the other is a "visor" that just amounts to sunglasses with a weird chinstrap that no one else in the game has when they use the same visor....and while the third one is really awesome looking, (the blue HUD eye visor thing cant remember what its called) it looks completely out of place as just a "sunglasses" visor, it should have been part of a complete helmet.

For some reason we only get two completely sealed helmets, Death Mask and N7 Breather, and before you say "recon hood"...that's a HOOD. As advanced as it is, it's not a helmet...for anyone who likes the armored feel and look the recon hood looks like clothes.

I don't know why almost all the helmet options are weird, rounded, half open, or just flat out visors. But I think they really really slacked in giving us some new helmet options. How about giving us some sleek, sealed combat helmets based off the designs of the alliance ships? You know, like armored, but smooth and with jagged angles at the same time?

There's nothing wrong with visors, but the game is full of them, and the whole point of visors is that they're supposed to be PART of the helmet!

To end my thought, think about this, wouldn't that new blue visor they made have been awesome if part of a complete "mech" inspired helmet??

And even if that's not your cup of tea, what happened to including variety for people with different tastes? :(

I would like Isaac Clarke's Tier 3 Engineering suit from the first game (the suit seen in most of the media) and the advanced suit from the second game (the most advertised suit in the media).

A well Spoken, valid and quite amusing argument. I agree completely, even with the N7 defender armour the helmet is still wide open and while it looks really good, the half open helmet makes it him look fat. if you do a certain mission on a certain planet, (not naming which for spoiler reasons) there is a certain Female Captain there in an orange version of the Defender armour with a death mask instead of the fatman helmet and she look so much deadlier in comparison.

more than half of the ones they gave us are just so goofy looking, I'll admit tho, they did give the normal N7 helmet a good finishing touch and it doesn't look half bad.

-I want what garrus has but for a human obviously.
-maybe a pair of aviators (yes actual sunglasses)
-another style of recon hood, the one we have is cool and i love it but, i want to see what else they could do with it

Ah right, i thought the terminus armour was pretty cool, until i put it on and the bonuses are less than numerous. Which is where i think bianco's argument is made even more valid, because with the fact customized armour is 9/10 better than bought/addon armours it means that having effective armour tailored to your character often leaves him looking like a star wars dropout.

Even thought that Alliance starfighter pilot at the end had a cool helmet, like something out of halo. Maybe mass effect should look closer at halo, when it comes to sci-fi armours they rule the catwalk

Exactly, that's another very valid point....although it's something I can deal with, it bothers me greatly when my preffered armor parts have bonuses that do absolutely nothing for me. My favorite leg armor is one that gives melee boost, and I think Ive meleed 4 times during an entire playthrough lol.

But honestly, if they could just do two things I would be satisfied:

1) Include helmets from the "full armors" as customizable helmets. This can be achieved with some very easy copy paste coalesced modding, so it really should be something that Bioware does for everyone, not everyone knows or cares how to mod, and console people are out of luck altogether...

2) Stop with the ridiculous "fat man" designs for the visors and helmets that they have been doing since ME2. Sealed helmets with open mouth areas, rounded and bombastic visors, visors that are incomplete and should be part of full helmets....bring the "futuristic gritty" looks of the customizable armor parts to helmet options or even the "futuristic clean" looks of alliance ships and the citadel to the helmets.  Regardless of whether they make visors or sealed helmets (way too many visors already imo) if they follow these two design templates or either, then we would get options that are waaaaay better than the helmet options we have now...at the very least we would have different options to offset the weird ones we have now.

yeah when I saw that fighter pilot in the final scene I was like OMG WHY CANT I HAZ HELMAT?!?!

Lol. Seriously though...Bioware, enough with the goofy options please...give us something more "traditional sci-fi" even if it's got your Mass Effect personality to it...

Edit: As for Dead Space 2, the helmet is kick as*, but the rest of the armor looks way too light. It never made sense to me in that game how what essentially looks like padding is supposed to stop anything...much less the monsters of that game from ripping into you...

Yeah, I much prefer the Security Armor (2nd pic) as it's used by soldiers, would definitely fit in more with ME. Though the first armor would look pretty good for an Adept though...

I'm surprised theres never been some sort of "Spectre Armor" for Shepard to wear being that he is a spectre for most of the series
