Indoctrination means that there actually would have been no ending at all. A bad ending is better than no ending, since bioware is not going to use the theory anyway.

Why do so many think that Indoc. Theory stops at "Oh sh*t, it was all a dream dood."
There would have to be more gameplay/story after the indoc. scene as I've said multiple times.
Image IPB

So at what point does the dream sequence cut off? - it's full of issues.

After Shepard "chooses"?
Then the retarded space magic still happens, the Normandy still inexplicably crashes

After the space magic scene we go back to reality?
The Normandy still inexpicably fled the scene and crashed on a conveniently garden world.

Both the space magic and normandy scenes is imaginary
Then it very much was "all a dream dood", the game has no ending!

Incidentlly can we agree to disagree over the religious stuff. My first post on this thread got attacked inexplicably by some theist linking my lack of faith with a desire for space magic (wtf). Both sides are as guilty as the other but it's completely irrelevant to this debate... move on like the rest of us.

Good point! And there are many other counter arguments to the "theory". I just have to say that people should not try to prove their theory after already accepting the theory is right. And that's exactly what's happening right now, they pick and choose the things that support the theory and completely discard other evidence that don't support the theory.

Nope, the wording "I mean, for real" made me giggle.

OK, is it not possible to make your point without insulting anyone? And your idea of silencing me is appalling...do I not have the freedom of speech in a foreign forum? I don't know about you, but in America, we really respect people's right to speak even in the situation where we want to strangle each other.

Given your insulting of religious people, I'd say you're the greater of two evils here.

Ignore IVitriol he has never been able to accept disagreeing opinions. He tries to censor them in anyway possible.

There is no way game writers will hide the plots so sophisticated that it takes speculations in this depth to piece the story together

Actually there is, but (or rather BUT ) its never a stand alone thing. Its an additional fanservice, some goodie you give to the the people that were loyal to you all these years. You give a Situation everyone can comprehend, easily, without needing to piece stuff together, but add some depth to it, at which point everyone that knows the story will be "Boah, cool! I knew it!".

So if you take the indoctrination theory for example, you don't stop there. You keep on telling the tale. Have someone pull your mainchar out of the rubble after he picked the Destruction Ending and explain to the audience that it was in fact an Indoctrination attempt he was able to shake.. and then proceed to give a real ending. The real fans then will remember all those oily shadow dialogues, all the scenes, how much he has resembled Saren and all that.

The res will not have that knowledge, but noone would have been confused. And then, at the very end, you foreshadow some tradgedy... maybe by showing the boy amongst the Crowd as the Hero waves cheerful to the cheering masses as he strolls down a victory lane. You have him stop smiling, looking into the crowd as he sees the kid... and then you fade to black with a reaper growl.

That way you forshadow the fall of the protagonist, because even if he has "beat" the indoctrination for a time, everyone knows the fall will be inevitable. And then you can release Mass Effect 4, from another persons perspective fighting the old protagonist who has finally succumbed to the Indoctrination, even though the Reapers are gone.. attempting to bring them back or something.

That sounds awesome!

If only...

It's also not quite so relevant to the final outcome.

According to doc. theory, Bioware obsfucated the entire ending of the game. Which is a little different to knowing who popped out of who :P

The basis is the same though, dozens of tiny tiny clues in the game. Once you add them up you get a clear picture. The only difference is that the KotOR II example is 100% irrefutable and took a long time to come to light, while ME3 is still in the baby stages of media conspiracy.

Your argument is just one of those arguments that dosn't really count due to the fact that if it is countered all it does is just prove your point, therefore it really isn't worth anyones time

To me, anyone who can see all that odd stuff at the end and just take it at face value are not really paying attention. Or just jumping on the hate bandwagon. Indoctrination seems most likely, or maybe it's a hallucination, or a near-death experience. Whatever it was, it was clearly not reality.
I think it's a real shame that so many people have freaked out so badly over the ending, because I think it might keep developers from doing unique or unexpected endings in the future.

The only problem I would have with it would be if they charge for it.

B/c if they really were going with something like the indoctrination theory and these weren't really the endings... they we are paying for the ending of the game, which should be part of what we already paid for. We didn't pay for half a game. It wasn't advertised that way.

And of course that ending DLC would do well, thus encouraging other companies to start chopping off and charging for endings and IMO that would be unacceptable.

That said, I hope the Indoctrination Theory is true b/c it would be such a badass ending to Mass Effect.

So, am I a troll too for pointing out the fact that you were deleting dissenting opinions in a poll of yours?

I do have a good reputation among my friends and some forum-goers, so I would totally love to see your reaction to that.

Or are you not going to come up with a silly excuse as to why you blocked me and called me a "crony" when I only pointed out that you deleted the comments of someone who did not believe the ME3 endings needed to be "changed."

Please, do explain yourself.

Wonderful comeback. I see that explains everything.

Just FYI, I need not ride one nor would I, straight as an arrow over here. Sorry to disappoint you.

The fact that you can not counter my point in a mature and valid manner speaks volumes. Also the fact you can not conveniently delete posts that oppose your views must be painful.

Or did you think I was a Tali hater? Which I assure you I am not.

Or some other great reason. Again, I would love to hear it.

Well, my friend beat ME3 last night and called me today. He told me he literally hasn't been that depressed since his dog died when he was 8. Then he heard about this theory and all of his depression went away. Just saying, you can get hope from anything.

This.

Might I also remind you that in a poll iVitriol created, he asked for the opinions of people on the ME3 endings. The comments of those who disagreed were deleted. And the comment of mine that called him out on it was deleted, I received a PM about how I am "a crony" and that he subsequently blocked me. Trust me this guy's word holds no water ever and any opinions that oppose his are never met with arguments with substance. Also the fact that he has not yet replied to my most recent post above should say something; he must have run out of teenage insults. Too bad he can't explain his madness to me.

And now that he is in a thread he cannot control, he cannot simply delete posts he does not agree with, and instead results to "Oh look the troll" and "Hey its the d*ckrider again" as his "comebacks" or "arguments" as I am sure he sees them.

As for the indoc theory, I beleive some but not all of the points made on it.

A very good example, thank you! It is exactly what I've been trying to say. All the Indoctrination Theory does is really just give hope to desperate people. It preys on people who are in a vulnerable stage.:(
