ANYWAY....yeah I'm in Virginia, USA at the moment, and here prices have gone down for ME3 (standard version) When I go online to Amazon the prices for 360, PC, and PS3 are 50,51,50 - respectively. Also I called my local best buy and they are selling ME3 for 40,50,40 - respectively.
I'm pretty sure none of us have global statistics or anything, but i never would have expected the prices to drop within the first month of release for a game that was as anticipated as this one was...
well...with everything that's happened (not just the ending issue) it's explainable, but I was still surprised...
Well ME3 beat DA2 for price drop on Amazon. The price went to £23.95 after 19-21 days (from UK release).
For what was supposed to be Biowares flagship title that's pretty horrific. Bioware now only have DA3 which is itself damaged from the reputation of DA2 ,to turn things around.
ME3 was the closest thing to a safe bet you could get and they found a way to not only screw it up. But screw it up in front of a world wide audience.
Regarding this I don't really understand the stonewalling PR-policy of BioWare. The sales dropped, the prices fell, that makes an impact on future DLCs very likely, which is bad when you are making a AAA title meant to be a cashcow through DLCs.
Now, they said they didn't want to address the ending-issue directly till now, so ppl would have a chance to play through the game...
Whut? You don`t need to upload the damn script what's going to happen. You just need to announce "NEW ENDING DLC" or "2000 PAGES BOOK TO CLARIFY THE METAPHYSICAL OFFSPRING OF THE ONTOLOGIC FOCUS OF THE GAMES ENDING ON THE COEXISTANCE OF SYNTHETIC- AND ORGANIC LIFE - with a handwritten signature of steven hawkings for the first 100 buyers" or " THAT ENDING WAS INTENDED; FOOLS! LOTS OF SPECULATIONS!!! ENJOY! - Oh, and plz buy our "Psychotic homocidal horror-trip DLC where Shepard gets drugged and singlehandedly strangles 4 carrying Asari and a Krogan transvestite to death!"
But saying nothing...I don't know...during all this BioWares reputation has suffered, and that has an impact on current and future sales...the more a reputation is broken, the harder to repair... just sayin
