ANYWAY....yeah I'm in Virginia, USA at the moment, and here prices have gone down for ME3 (standard version) When I go online to Amazon the prices for 360, PC, and PS3 are 50,51,50 - respectively. Also I called my local best buy and they are selling ME3 for 40,50,40 - respectively.

I'm pretty sure none of us have global statistics or anything, but i never would have expected the prices to drop within the first month of release for a game that was as anticipated as this one was...

well...with everything that's happened (not just the ending issue) it's explainable, but I was still surprised...

Well ME3 beat DA2 for price drop on Amazon. The price went to £23.95 after 19-21 days (from UK release).

For what was supposed to be Biowares flagship title that's pretty horrific. Bioware now only have DA3 which is itself damaged from the reputation of DA2 ,to turn things around.

ME3 was the closest thing to a safe bet you could get and they found a way to not only screw it up. But screw it up in front of a world wide audience.

Regarding this I don't really understand the stonewalling PR-policy of BioWare. The sales dropped, the prices fell, that makes an impact on future DLCs very likely, which is bad when you are making a AAA title meant to be a cashcow through DLCs.
Now, they said they didn't want to address the ending-issue directly till now, so ppl would have a chance to play through the game...
Whut? You don`t need to upload the damn script what's going to happen. You just need to announce "NEW ENDING DLC" or "2000 PAGES BOOK TO CLARIFY THE METAPHYSICAL OFFSPRING OF THE ONTOLOGIC FOCUS OF THE GAMES ENDING  ON THE COEXISTANCE OF SYNTHETIC- AND ORGANIC LIFE - with a handwritten signature of steven hawkings for the first 100 buyers" or " THAT ENDING WAS INTENDED; FOOLS! LOTS OF SPECULATIONS!!! ENJOY! - Oh, and plz buy our "Psychotic homocidal horror-trip DLC where Shepard gets drugged and singlehandedly strangles 4 carrying Asari and a Krogan transvestite to death!"

But saying nothing...I don't know...during all this BioWares reputation has suffered, and that has an impact on current and future sales...the more a reputation is broken, the harder to repair... just sayin

Me neither, their responses have hurt them more than it has helped them, I believe. There are few people who swallow those PR statements, if any at all, and I would have believed PR 201 would focus on being more "human" and not quite so sleek in the responses from the company to the public.

Ah good old hyperbole how much I have missed you.

I actually made that post so that ppl can agree on these rules and conversations in future will be regarding the topic...not what you said, because if you are always right, than there is no need to try to prove you wrong.

And as I have stated elsewhere...

Nice. I see Dragoonlordz has a reputation. It's easy to see how these threads can go off topic.

Yes, dragon has had the same basic type of presence in every thread i have seen him/her in, not incorrigible enough to be paid off, but enough to be a troll of some form

Funny.

I too think it's a colossal mistake for BioWare to sit on their hands while their reputation gets ruined and sales drop.

While your point is very valid, and I would tend to agree with you, if, and I stress IF the Indoctrination Theory is true as I hope it is, and they were planning this from the get go, they will have essentially Indoctrinated the fans, achieving something that no game that I can think of has done before: making the game world affect your real world, thus bringing you inside the game world in a way that is truly unique.

if this was the plan, and they make the dlc free and available to everyone, then my personal prediction is that everyone, or almost everyone, will forgive them and then call them "geniuses".

This is my personal prediction just because it's what I would say if this has indeed been in the works since the start.

And also: I REALLY hope it's true so we can rub it in the faces of all those smug, arrogant elitist bloggers who call themselves "journalists" who told us all that there's nothing wrong with the ending and that we are just a 'vocal minority of entitled whiny gamers who don't appreciate artistic integrity" I would LOOOOVE to see what they have to say when the ending they defended to arrogantly turns out to be utter and complete nonsense unless paired with the IT theory DLC.

I can hope right?

...otherwise I might as well be a machine....

It's not, it's just an abandoned ending concept with bits left over. It's the sort of thing you could only pull off with a 100% digital release.

I srsly doubt this at well. In that case that must have known that releasing an unfinished game is a rly bad strategy and would have let to an outrage (maybe a smaller one than the current). Not something you do when you want to milk cash out of your customers.

I like the simple explanation of human error. Someone screwed the ending up. Maybe that someone is in a high position and is intelligent and integer but also proud and therefor has a hard time admitting his mistake...
Lots of speculations!

Awesome, Amazon sold 4 copies at a discount in about an hour. At that rate, they'll sell 2900 in a month.

Yeah but, (and I promise I'm not trying to turn this into an IT theory thread) while the corporate/business aspect that you guys bring up is a very valid one, have you guys taken a look at just how much evidence/hints there are suggesting that IT theory is actually true?

I mean, there's literally a mountain of things that point to it....

Edit: Once again, can we all just stop with the back and forth antagonism? Its just....useless....cmon, please let's just stop. No more.

hmmmm I don't know what to think of this, the game is not what I expected, but I wouldn't go as far as complaining to Amazon.

nevertheless don't blame the Retakers alone, a high % of BUYERS would have to complain to put a product on review that is how it works, probably +50% of the people that bought it gave it a bad review and a similar % complained about it and Amazon is looking into it.

As we had this discussion in another thread where I pointed at data we have access to regarding sales showing very high sales, you digressed and tried to change it to about how much cost to develop. I have no intention of rehashing this with you.

I have seen these videos about the IT and must admit that it follows a cohorent, internal logical pattern. But it's only an interpretation. It`s not founded on any reliably, explicit information given within the game(s).
Therefor I will not take it for granted.

What I have seen recently on here is that if your IT theory is true many people would be more insulted than originally.

I should also mention on topic of your response that the IT theory in itself is not a solution to the ending because it is not an ending in itself, the ending material would have to be created after IT, this is a separate element and a separate ending which IT does not cover because it has not been created after IT would take place.
