It really depends on whether or not you base your opinion on other peoples.

Hopefully you're not going to compare this game to actual important things that impact peoples lives greatly, like the restrictions of freedoms because of someones opinion.

If you aren't, then yes it is absurd that you are trying to "win" people to your side. Even better you think I have a side because I'm not a Retaker. That's just insanely delusional logic there.

Considering that Yahtzee is a busy guy, who had to RUSH through ME3, I don't find it surprising that he seems to have not understood the problem and is simply parroting what other people have said - Because of his fairly infamous position he is expected to voice an opinion, but his opinion is barely his own and this is self-evident.

It's kind of like when the President of the US has to comment on something happening in pop-culture, or some viral "cause", due to being the President and being expected to make a statement; He doesn't know what he's talking about, he probably hasn't "Watched that show" or "Seen that Internet video". The event has been distilled and summarized by someone else and that is their entire exposure to it.

I mean for ****s sake he was parroting the "Art" line, I sincerely doubt he has spent the fairly ridiculous amount of time required on these forums reading up on our analysis, or reading any countless number of articles written about it. He may have witnessed the ending but a lot of people saw the ending and were initially "Okay" with it, it's not until AFTER and you start thinking about it does it really sink in and Yahtzee has not committed any time to doing that...why would he?

Yeah.... sometimes it's hard to tell if Yahtzee is being a **** because thats whats expected of him, or if he realy is as pretentious and ignorant as he makes himself out to be. The ONLY game I have ever heard him portray in a bright light was Silent Hill 2. You have to wonder.... if he realy hates most games as much as he makes out, then why does he bother to focus his living on them?

Either way, I don't care. Personally I have never enjoyed any of his videos or anything written by him, regardless of if it is a "character".

Isn't Yahtzee under the impression that 99.9% of the human race are idiots? It makes for great cynical comedy, but it's not all that great for general discourse.

One of the first times I actually disagree with Yahtzee. However, he didn't seemed that interested in the Mass Effect franchise in the first place. He also said the ending was "meh" and also stated that he had no expectations for a good ending.

He considers himself a critic, not a reviewer, and he takes that label very seriously. Even if he loves a game he still approaches it from a "they could do better and this is how" standpoint. He does it specifically to call out and keep in the forefront that as an ever-evolving medium, games always have room for improvement and neither the industry or its consumers should put games on a pedestal and always demand better.

To wit,

Yahtzee's forte has always been to provide less than mainstream opinions in a package under 5 minutes long. Really easy way to do it now is to call everyone a d**k. You don't really watch his videos for their informational value rather than for pure entertainment, right?
