Critics don't want things to be changed for the better. They want things to be done wrong, that they can point at.
If this is the case then why waste your time on him?

Yahtzee hates people like the "Retakers" and generally acts like a dick in all of his videos. That's part of his humor. If you take anything he says seriously, you ARE an idiot. His entire act is based on rating everything badly, no matter what it is. I've seen him give like 2 positive reviews, and then they got really bad at the end.
Plus, half of you are idiots. Same with every video game fanbase.
Same with the entire global population.
Touche.

It's a bit sad that you have a "side" in the first place Retaker. You shouldn't have to try and "win" people into agreeing with your opinion.
Am I the only person who finds this statement almost comically absurd?
Are you a geth? Does your society only make decisions via consensus?
It really depends on whether or not you base your opinion on other peoples.
"I like Kill Bill."
(10 other people) "I hate Kill Bill."
"Oh, now I hate Kill Bill."
Cute, except that has nothing to do with what you said.
"You shouldn't have to try and "win" people into agreeing with your opinion."
It's called debate and it's a healthy part of any non-autocratic society.
EDIT: Not to mention you criticizing "taking sides" and then calling him/her a "Retaker".
Hopefully you're not going to compare this game to actual important things that impact peoples lives greatly, like the restrictions of freedoms because of someones opinion.
If you aren't, then yes it is absurd that you are trying to "win" people to your side. Even better you think I have a side because I'm not a Retaker. That's just insanely delusional logic there.
I think the point went over your head.

But yeah, it's been posted already a few days ago. He missed the point because it's totally fine to stick to your artistic and strictly linear vision as long as
a) you don't promise us features, such as a dynamic narrative driven by player choices

I am somewhat disappointed that he had to add the whole "Oh, but if they cave under the pressure, fans will only have to whine enough to change things in the future" argument. Which is nonsense, I can't see people get this upset over just anything.

Well, as we all know, insulting people (especially insulting their intelligence) is the best way to win them over to your side.
wait...
Not to mention that insulting people inteligence is usualy the sign there is no argument or wisedome left to proove your point, just a pain in the butt to some people that desagree with your opinon and refuse to allow it... insulting is showing how furstrated they are.... and guess who is the whinner kid ...

Eh, Yahtzee generally doesn't have a great opinion on anyone who likes a game more than casually. (Unless that game is Portal or Psychonauts.) I wouldn't take it personally.

Oh, I'm just making generalized commentary about how he seems to have hit a nerve here. The whole thing reeks of the Super Smash Bros Brawl fiasco when the SSB community lost its collective **** in the face of Croshaw's review and proved without a doubt what the rest of the gaming community suspected, or flat-out knew, about them.SwobyJ wrote...

He's being serious on this end, and you should take it personal. Because my god, the "retake" movement is just scary, frightening and depressing in our democratic society. They're a bunch of dictators packed in one bag, demanding their rights- like a bunch of lunatics.
It's shameful to maybe even be categorised with that bunch.

Are you one of those people who supports the endings because of "artistic integrity"?

Admittedly, I avoid the BSN usually for that reason, but I'd say the outrage this time is somewhat bigger than usually. Charity donations, the cupcakes thing, general media coverage... But obviously I don't keep track of all games (including their fans' reactions to them) out there so I could be wrong.
