I didn't get to complete this in ME2 but I'm wondering if it affected anything in ME3.

no which is really annoying because it's one of the first choices you get presented in ME2 and it's implied to have consequences.

I was wondering if the mission where you decide whether to keep the capital or the spaceport intact would have any consequences. Turns out it doesn't.

You would think they would at least affect War Assets. For example, If you saved that spaceport, one of your Alliance assets would get a tiny boost, as the freighters from the port are being used to reinforce supply lines.

Sadly true.

I always kept it since I wanted to have a card to play if it ever came up.  If I gave it to either side, I lost any bargaining power that it may have had.

Please. The mission on Noveria had no impact on Mass Effect 3. You think that a simple N7 mission would?

Sadly no, I was also expecting consequences for the Javelin Missiles mission on Watson but alas.

Irrelevant decisions:
1) Saving Rachnii
2) Appointing Anderson as Councilor
3) Saving Collector Base
4) Sending Shadowbroker data
5) N7 Operative Mission
6) Firewalker Prothean relic

And pretty much all other decisions you make in the game

I quickly scanned through that Wiki article. It makes sense that this wouldn't have consequences in Mass Effect 3.

From: Alliance Command
Commander:
We got the data you sent. If this went public, it could do some serious damage to Cerberus' image. This intel will take years to decode, but just having it is a huge win for the Alliance.
Well done, Shepard. Good luck on your mission.

or

From: EDI
I have logged and begun decryption of the data you recovered from the Eclipse base on Lorek. Preliminary searches show that the information pertains to illicit operations in which Cerberus was involved over the past five years. Should this information be released, it could severely hinder Cerberus' ability to operate openly in the galaxy.
It will take me a year or more to completely decrypt this information.

But bro, you only get 8 of the unique endings if you saved the collector base, and the other 8 if you destroy it!

The Rachni decision actually did matter. If you kill the Queen in ME1, then in ME3 there is an artificial Queen that if you save ends up double crossing the Alliance. The actual Queen provides a 100 War Asset boost I believe.

The rest were pretty irrelevant though. What about Toombs? Major Kyle? Noveria? All such a waste in ME3...

Actually if you save the Queen you also get 25 points taken from Aralakh Company and if you let her die you get a 75 point boost to the Company, meaning it doesn't change anything.

Oh and yeah the war assets don't matter either so...

Just curious but has the original queen a different appearance from the artificial queen?
