So I had leveled my character up to level 20. Then I left for a small trip with some friends, and when I came back and saw the community effort thing, I figured I might as well promote him. This happened yesterday. Either way, when I did, the entire character was gone. Name, rank and all.
I only got to promote one character during the challenge because of it.
Is this a common problem, and is there any solution? EA Support told me to ask on these forums.

I lost my lvl 18 krogan soldier yesterday, I had to create him again. Fortunately I didn't lost the level, so it was easy to recreate him.

If I understood correctly, you promoted the adept class which causes all 4 adepts to be reset. Removing the name, powers, rank and weapon customisation. As they share level all 4 adepts will be reset when you promote, you can't promote individual soldiers from the line up, instead you promote all the entire adept class.

That sounds like a bug, have you ran any programs which "clean" your HD or deleted any files? As afaik ME3 does multiplayer "saves" on your computer.

Maybe the cloud was down when I finished the game saturday and it didn't saved the character.
