So...like the title says, i think gold challenges shouldn't be available for players under a certain N7 rank. I am sick and tired of  losing a game just because sparky mc'sparkpants or whatever his face is decides that his lvl 5 character with no upgraded weapons is good enough for gold.

I mean seriously, it's not bad enough they play worse that the worse noob but in the last 2 days I lost enough equipment due to low lvls that have no idea how to play that equivalated with 3 jumbo supply packs.

Really now low lvl players or first timers, play bronze, play silver but don't come on gold and decide mid round you are not good enough and then quit. You are screwing the whole team over by doing that.

Sorry..i just needed to vent. It's just frustrating, especially when the player hosting the game is the amateur doing that.....

I am with you mate! It is difficult to find players who play to win ... Gold isn't fun because it requires so much to beat it .... so yeah

Oddly enough, I just passed 100 for my N7 rating and I haven't once thought of trying Gold out.

100 for silver, gold needs at least 200

The real question is why you even started a game with a level 5 in the lobby? N7 means nothing in the end. I've seen countless N7's with 300+ who suck just as much as a N7 20.

Heh, my rating is 100+ since today and I'd probably be rather sub-par in Gold. Rating does not say much about someones abilities, it just shows that one has plenty of time to play.

right because rank =/= skill

People would be frustrated if they couldn't play the mode they want. If you don't want low levels in your game then just kick them. It's what the feature is there for

lolno, I completed tons of silver with everyone under 100 and several golds were none of use where higher than 120/150, you can't force people to promote.

I don't bother with promoting or playing multiple characters, but I still have a level 20 Infiltrator and Black Widow and score fairly well in Gold matches. Are you saying I shouldn't be able to play Gold because of some arbitrary number?

A good character loadout means more to me than the meaningless n7 rating. Call me crszy or old-school, but I like adepts to use only pistols or MAYBE a light AR. Casters with a sniper AND shotgun? No.

Rank is experience. Who would you rather have watching your back in a gold match, a boy that's greener than grass or a man of the night's watch?

Sorry... Game of Thrones returns tonight.

I agree with the OP. New kids need to cut it out. However, some people seem to give me guff when I play as a Level 1 Salarian Infiltrator. Until they realize that I carry the team to victory.

I think a character level restriction would make more sense, but I'd be fine with this too, too many nubs in gold.

I see rank only as an indicator that the player does have some idea of what he's doing. One other thing i look at is the weapons players use and what lvl they are. a rank 120 with a lvl 1 shruiken or claymoredoes not inspire to much confidence....

On the other hand, you are right catspirit, rank =/= skill. and yes there are a few high ranks that are absolutely horrible...

One example was today. I played with a rank 150+ drell adept, and we had to revive the guy every 30 seconds. Imagine how fun that is when he's surrounded by geth..

How about this:
Succeed x times on bronze to unlock silver.
Succeed y times on silver to unlock gold.

Like Alikat wrote, not everyone promotes his characters. Players with N7 rank 120 may have unlocked more weapons and upgrades than someone with N7 rank 300.

what does n7 rank mean? you can have 1000 by just leveling the same class over and over, and not learn anything about any other class. If you want to exclude people from your games, host with your friends. If you don't have friends , make some.

And what about someone who's only maxed one or two classes and not promoted them? They could've played countless hours with the same class and still be N7 20.

How about no? If you don't want low levels in gold matches, remove them with a vote kick. And is doable with a low level; just a lot harder than it would be with a higher level character.

Not really going to support as I'm still below 100 (98 at the moment) and regularly doing gold-runs with random people (and I have done that since I hit N7 20). And I usually end up with 50%-100% more score than second one (I know that is mostly because SI is godly but point is I'm not being carried). I really don't care about promoting.
