Can you use your character on subsequent playthroughs?

Also, after you beat the game, can you load it up and go back in for the DLC, or should I keep this early save in case I want to go through the DLC with this character?
I appreciate any answers you can give me.

1.New game plus... Always good!
2.Unlimited characters... Always good!
Oh well... I can sit here and cry all I want for game features, and nothing will change. Better build a better PC so I can create my own missions for my character to run through post game lol. And, I guess there is always creating a dozen silver accounts to make 10 more characters each on rofl!

I never understood why they would create a new game+ on Mass Effect and not have it here. I would replay Mass Effect for weeks and weeks with it. I also just found out you can only have 10 characters on console... I was steamed man.. really steamed! There are soooo many combos of class/specs you can go through, and I can only create 10 toons? Psh! Give us a break BioWare, stop sliding back and keep moving forward!

You can only have 10??? Really? Because I designed a few characters that I don't like and there's no delete button on the 360 version to get rid of them. So am I stuck with them? I have two new designs I want to bring in (at least) and I don't want to not be able to play them. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Or is there a way to overwrite some of the characters you already created?

Me either. If they're smart enough to realise that new game+ isn't valuable when developing DAO, then why bother with it in ME?Draconus Kahn wrote...

Or is that not what you meant?

I did some research and found that you can at least delete unwanted characters through System Settings on the 360 dashboard, so I got rid of the characters I won't use. Hopefully I won't go past 10 different playthroughs, or else someone won't make the cut...

I'm not interested in a new game+ I just want to play my "character" with a different origin story.

I hear of character mods to go beyond the known parameters of character appearance. Perhaps, there is or can be a mod that will let you save and load character appearance parameters.
