I liked DA2... as a game with nothing related to DAO, not even the name.

For me it was:

Dragon Age Origins and Dula Alalala 2

This sums it up for me.

DOA cannot and should not be compared to DA2, it would be an offense to DAO in my opinion, there's no contest. But, DA2 on its own isn't bad, it's alright, it's not great, sometimes it's good, but overall it's alright. I finished it two times and that's about it, I haven't touched it in months. But, to be honest, I highly doubt that even if DA3 ends up worst than DA2, it'd still be miles ahead of ME3's disappointment (due to the ending of course, not due to the game in general, as we know). If Casey and Mac Walters have nothing to do with DA3, then there should be a minimum of hope. But again, I doubt that DA3 will be anywhere near what DAO is (I.E. a masterpiece).

The Witcher 2 was everything i wanted dragon age 2 to be + it wasent bogged down in censorship
Because we all take showers in our underwear :wizard:

You didnt see the Australian version. Apprently sex as a reward was against Australian values.......

I feel sorry for Australian gamers.

Left 4 Dead 2 is the perfect example of how bad Aussie gamers have it terms of censorship. Luckly a quick patch (correctly named the un-Australian patch) for the Witcher 2 and the succubus scence is unlocked.

I was able to enjoy DA2 despite the issues I had with it. Mostly because I was interested in the characters and felt motivated to move the story along. Also known as good writing. The glue that holds role-playing games together.

ME3 could have been that way too. The things that bothered me (no holstering, Talishop, terrible questlog/map, the occasional feeling that major parts of the game were slapped together quickly and without care, etc.) would have been smoothed over a lot if the ending had paid off fairly (without requiring me to shut off my emotional attachment to the game and tie narrative logic into a pretzel, I mean).

I'm definitely not saying I won't get DA3. But before March it would have been a pre-order. Now it's a maybe, after I've given it a hard look and enough time has passed from launch for any serious issues to have been reported.

With some negative feedback of lack of RPG for Mass Effect 2 and totally wrong direction for Dragon Age 2, and I thought Bioware would listen. Turns out I was wrong. Where was some of the RPG element from Mass Effect 1 or even what's left of it from Mass Effect 2? If I wanted a good shooter game I would have went with Call of Duty.  Everyday Bioware is turning into a shooter franchise company instead of RPG company that I used to love.

Dragon Age III will be a hold for me unless they can show me they can redeem their RPG crown.

It's sad that Drew Karpyshyn and Brent Knowles left the company.

Bioware is working so hard on the game and it may very well be a great game but thanks to Mass Effect 3's failure it may fail anyways.
We should be willing to give Bioware a chance.  Just because Mass Effect 3 sucked does not mean we should take it out on Dragon Age III, it might be what redeems Bioware afterall since we now all know for certain that the indoctrination theory is a load of crap.

They have already stated they are not going back to the Dragon Age: Origins formula, even after so many people complained about Dragon Age 2. I think some aspects of the combat were improved but that everything else was a step in the wrong direction. They want to keep these changes, such as a specific protoganist who is voiced, and the dialogue wheel and spawning enemies. I won't be buying Dragon Age 3 until the price drops to like 20 bucks and even then I will buy it used so I can use my return policy if the game sucks.

Dragon age two was so awful, I have very little interest in a Dragon Age three game that will have ****ty companions, ninjas spawning in the sky, and horrible combat. In my opinion the Witcher series has pretty much surpassed Mass effect and Dragon age as the best RPG.

I've really enjoyed what David Gaider and the rest of the writing team over there has put forth so far. Hope the game they build around it is a little better this time around.

Not gonna buy it. DA2 sucked, ME3 is a huge disappointment. No DA3, will stick to CDPR and Bethesda.

No. Bioware is not a small company with limited funds. Few game companies would even bother hiring Martin Sheen to do VO for the game. Most don't have the funds to do that. Bioware does because they are practically EA. Even if DA 3 bombs, Bioware/EA would just move on to something more profitable. Not that I hope it happens because I do like the Dragon Age games (even 2)

I am now riding the wait for fan reviews bus. It's not that I hated either ME3 or DA2, so much as I don't think they lived up to what they could have been.

If they take their time and write good games they will continue to receive my patronage, otherwise, my gaming dollars will move elsewhere.

DA2 almost killed an entire franchise for many. ME3 was fine game before endings. IDK, need to check Metacritic players' rating.

no.
DA2: No DA3 sale.
You make the argument it was rushed, but that wasn't the whole reason. The departure from old style RPGness destroyed the series for me, and I have more than enough Action RPGs to play. Dependent on how they handle DA3 will depend on how I think of it, but ATM I am not willing to purchase it. It won't be the sort of game that will appeal to me, it will likely include some BS artistic integrity crap, and it will lead to a situation with ME4 where people go 'Don't blame DA3 for ME4, they're different teams!', 'But ME3 was bad', 'Thats because it was rushed, more time has gone into this one!'

You guys should stop being mean and give Bioware a chance! The reason Dragon Age II was a failure was because it was rushed. It came out only 16 months after Dragon Age:Origins. Dragon Age III on the other hand probably won't come out until 2013 meaning that we'll see much more of Bioware's artistic integrity.

I think alot of people have had enough of their artistic integrity. That to the side, you're asking us to have faith in a compnay that just burned us twice...and added insult to injury be refusing to admit wrong was done. Sorry, it's not going to happen. I'll not consider, and I'm not alone in this, another product from BW until they prove they still care bout us and fix ME3 properly. You can;t just drop everything, point to a new title and say, "Forget about this garbage and buy our new thing!" No.

Except ME3 as a game did not suck, just the ending for a good portion of people.  The Dragon Age series was sunk on its own from DA2 alone heh.

Hmm. I'll keep an eye out for DA3, but I probably won't pre-order it. I learned my lesson after DA2.

But only time will tell, will it?

Martin was basicaly required in 3 because he was so huge in 2.
You think this ending outcry is bad? Imagine what would have happened if the illusive man only poped up in an email.

I was under the impression that people liked DA2.  All of my friends did.  To me the first game concluded itself opening the world for deeper conflicts like that between mages and the Templars.

But I can't bring myself to anticipate that game knowing how bad Bioware is at wrapping up stories.  I doubt I'll buy it.
