Other Bioware games were killed by ME3

Bioware is working so hard on the game and it may very well be a great game but thanks to Mass Effect 3's failure it may fail anyways.
We should be willing to give Bioware a chance. Just because Mass Effect 3 sucked does not mean we should take it out on Dragon Age III, it might be what redeems Bioware afterall since we now all know for certain that the indoctrination theory is a load of crap.
ME3 didn't suck, it's ending sucked. DA2 on the other hand... Is more likely the reason I will stay far away from DA3.

so clearly no point in buying bioware games first hand or even on day 1.

This, Plus, ME3 was 99% amazing. I hate the ending too, but more so I enjoyed the game. I wish people could stop overlooking it. I understand fully the let down of the END, not the game itself. I actually have more hope for DA3 after this. I was not a fan of DA2 (Would love to be able to kill Hawke off...) but it had it's moments...few and far between, but gameplay wise a lot of improvements were made in DA2. Looking at what little information they have put out lately, and the game based content they have come out with (Asunder and The Silent Grove) I am excited to see where this series is going. I truly hope they stay on the path they are on.cogsandcurls wrote...
I do, actually. Bioware are obviously really passionate, and I know that the DA team love their franchise and put a lot of thought and love into the things they make. You can even see it in what DA2 DLC we got - they took every criticism of DA2 seriously and worked really hard to improve things and give the fans an enjoyable experience, while keeping many of the elements that made fans love the vanilla game. It makes me really sad that some people are expressing doubts about it (even though I understand their perspective) - because it's a series I love and want to see do well.
Honestly though I'm hoping that the development cycle will be long enough for DA3 that by the time it finally comes out it will be somewhat distanced from the ghosts of controversies past. I really hope that, and I hope that it's an excellent game and sells well.
Edited to add: Cazlee, seeing as you know who Fiona is I strongly suspect you've already done this, but if not you really need to read Asunder. It's a nice little lore-expander and is clearly setting things up for DA3. Also - more Fiona is always excellent.

Dragon Age III on the other hand probably won't come out until 2013 meaning that we'll see much more of Bioware's artistic integrity.
I'd bet on a holiday 2012 release. I have a hunch they will announce it at PAX though especially with them just announcing no more DLC for Dragon Age 2.
I thought DA:2 was alright. Nothing memorable like Mass Effect or DA:O. The game had a lot of unique ideas that weren't executed well at all. Hopefully they learn from those mistakes a make a solid game.
I'll consider buying DA:3 I won't pre-order like I usually do with BioWare games, so yes some damage has been done to my purchasing tendencies with BioWare. However I'd say Dragon Age 2 did that more than Mass Effect 3.
I'm kind of in the same boat, but I think DA3 will launch in March 2013 at the earliest. Any later than that, and it's a real risk that hype for DA3 will be overshadowed by the rumored PS4 ("Orbis") launch in November 2013. As for pre-ordering DA3, well, I'll have to see what goodies there are first.

I've already given Bioware a few chances. They're called DA2 and ME3. From the responses I've seen coming from Bioware they seem to be more than happy to continue doing business they same way.

They screwed up all by themselves.

Whatever. . . I liked DA2. Hawk was infinitely more interesting to me than the silent Warden or even Shepard for that matter. Although I know I am in the minority there.
Agreed, especially Snarky Hawke. He/She had some of the greatest lines in DA or ME.

In fact, I will probably wait until after the post-release reviews and end up buying it used.

I tried so hard to pick the other responses, but it was too hard not pick the hilarious one liners! Hawke combined with Varric was pure comedy gold. . . Now if we can just get Alastair back!Xerxes52 wrote...

You mean DA2 messed up DA3.
DA and ME are two different teams, generes and writers. Its DA2 that one should focus on that would put doubts on 3.
I find it hard not the link the corporate culture that lead to DA:2 leading to ME3 (or its ending at least).
