Does anyone else feel sorry for Dragon Age III?

Bioware's worst game will be better than most of the stuff out there, in my opinion.

I've just bought Origins, so if I like it I'll definately play DA2, but if I don't like DA2 then I would give DA3 a chance, but I would see what everyone else had to say about it.
Better read the reviews on 2 before you waste your time and money. DAO is the best it's going to get.

Agreed, especially Snarky Hawke. He/She had some of the greatest lines in DA or ME.
Awesome.
Someone else remembers the best feature Bioware ever added to their games: "3 different personalities for main character depending on the choices you make in conversations!"
Snarky Hawke was indeed great, especially the female variant.

We should be willing to give Bioware a chance. Just because Mass Effect 3 sucked does not mean we should take it out on Dragon Age III, it might be what redeems Bioware afterall since we now all know for certain that the indoctrination theory is a load of crap.
A. I've given BioWare my time and money since 2003. Bought every title bearing their name. I'd count that as a chance.
B. When did we learn this for certain.

I like that they call Dragon Age 2 "polarizing." Same thing they said about Mass Effect 3's ending. I guess in BioWarespeak that's interchangable with "awful."

Now if we can just get Alastair back!
Back behind the bar where he belongs! He should become the Asari bartender of Dragon Age, telling stories of his past glories. The drunk Alistair is comedy gold, btw.

DA:O and DA2 are very different--particularly in terms of gameplay. I would recommend trying a DA2 demo first.
(In my opinion) DA:O is far, far superior to DA2.

And my interest in DA took quite a hit with DA2 already, but well, if they do truly make an amazing game, then i guess ill have to buy it.... used.

Frankly, after the direction of DA2 I was already put off on DA3.
And since that direction is the same person's ~ Mike Laidlaw. There's not much hope...

Ill more than likely get it just because I so enjoy the dragon age universe but if the dragon lady in the end tells me the darkspawn were her final solution to stopping humans and elves from killing each other and then proceeds to release a colored beam of some sort that destroys all dark spawn and uninvents the wheel im calling bullsheet
But if they would make that available as an option DLC for DA3, I would love them forever. It would take some quads to make fun of thier own flagship.

Maybe a mid-game dream sequence. A Joining induced nightmare!

Then I played DA2 demo, horrible. It's not even the same genre and the characters all looked terrible as well.
I remember going to a friends house and seeing him play it on PC and he was talking to someone and I made a remark about of the NPC's look extremely generic and he said that it wasn't an NPC but one of his party members. It was right then that I knew I made the right choice to skip the game.
DA1 had excellent charcaters and a good story without trying to be super complex. We must Stop the Darkspawn. There it is.
I'll check out DA3 but I probably won't buy it unless it goes back to DA1 genre of using more tactics and stealth. They turned the series into a hack and slash and that ruined it.
Outlook for the game: 5/10
Chance of getting it right now: 3/10

Bioware is working so hard on the game and it may very well be a great game but thanks to Mass Effect 3's failure it may fail anyways.

Actually, it means exactly that.
I used this argument to justify purchasing ME3 despite DA2 sucking.
So no, I have no intention of buying DA3 if ME3 isn't fixed. I mean, Bioware might say it's got a ton of cool stuff in it, but who knows if they're just lying again like they did with the propoaganda they fed us about ME3?

From $$$-point-of-view ME3 is far drom failure.
And this more than enough for EA. And, somehow, i see DA3 will become a $$$-hit as well.
Actually, Amazon UK just took down ME3 due to customer complains. As in you cannot buy it anymore. That's a damn serious step to take, and shows that this is far from over.

I already spent like 160 dollars (full game plus taxes and shipping) to get ME3 on March 8 (I'm from Brazil, and ME3 officially launched here just like a week ago, so I had to buy from the US). It's a great game but completely killed my experience with the series and my trust in Bioware. DA2 is already just an "ok" game, but after the clusterfuc* ending of ME3, the huge amount of lazyness in it, and all the problems DA2 had, I'll be forced to not pre-order any of their games anymore.

Just out of curiosity: what's the main complaints about DA2? That it was dumbed down?
The combat was changed to be more hack and slash(which didnt bother me one bit), and the RPG elements were downplayed and simplified just like ME2. Also, they reused SEVERAL enviroment layouts, which is just plain lazy. Also, some people were annoyed that the ENTIRE game took place in Kirkwall with no option to explore anywhere else.
This is only a small sample of what people hated. Despite those valid complaints, I think DA:O is extremely over rated, and the silent protaginist just kills it for me. Same thing with Skyrim. Loved the gameplay, didnt care about the chatacter or the story.
I loved DA 2, but I hated that trailer reveal for DA 3. So, I will just have to wait and see.
Hawke FTW!
