Please note, this is not a religous discussion, just an observation.

Not sure if you are Catholic or not, if you aren't please dont take offense to this, there have just been some similiarities I've noticed between Shepard and Jesus.

"The lord is my Shepard"
Jesus is regarded at the "shepard" of humanity, he dies for our sins on a Crucifix.

Commander Shepard is regarded as the protector of the Galaxy, he dies for us on a Crucible.

Jesus was part God and part man
Shepard is part organic and part synthetic

Jesus had 12 apostles
Shepard had 12 squadmates in me2

Jesus was betrayed by his friend judas and died on the cross.
Shepard was betrayed by the illusive man and died on the crucible.

Jesus rose from the dead
Shepard rose from the dead

Shepard goes around the Galaxy solving problems
Jesus went around the known world solving problems

Jesus rejected Satan's temptation.
Shepard accepted it.

Ugh, I hope not. The Adam and Eve thing with Joker and EDI is already idiotic.

Jesus didn't condemn Earth to a Stone Age.

No, Shepard is the anti-christ who pretends to want peace and promote peace but ends up indoctrinated and destroys the earth with war.

Ohh, i really dont hope so. If thats the case, and that was their intent (holy crap, with the adam and eve scene as well then :|) ill just take all my ME CE, ME 2 CE, and ME 3, DA:O CE, DA 2 CE discs and break em in hundreds of pieces and burn em. Then ill say FU bioware, and never buy anything from them ever again.

I hope not because it annoys me every time developers purposely put in Bible references just to make the characters and the story be more "biblical" and "World-bending."

Also the Normandy crashing on a planet was just some Adam and Eve stuff which would just devolve into an incest colony. Seriously you need at least a couple thousand people to sustain a population to have it grow, not the 35 Normandy crew that landed in the middle of nowhere.

Explains the allegory with Joker/EDI in paradise...an allegory so important that it warranted having him flee the battle for Earth for no reason just so the Normandy could get caught in the relay blast wave just so the Normandy could crash on Eden just so that one stupid ****ing shot could be forced into the game.

No...

If we take the Judeo-Christian myths in consideration, as TAO said, Jesus is said to have rejected the devil's influence (Just like Buddha did, and Osiris, etc... many parallels) While Shepard face the evil intelligence behind the Reapers, and bow down to it, and do it's bidding.

If they had bothered to model him off a real bad ass Myth like Thor we wouldn't be in this situation.

But no I don't think he is.

Even Jesus would have bashed the space brat head into pulp with his cross.

And it still would have been a better ending.
