Maybe this has already been discussed but I would really like to see Fergus Cousland in "The Next Thing."

Unless I'm mistaken, no matter what your origin in DA:O he still survives Ostagar but his wife and son are killed by the bastard Howe and his men.

If the writers found a way to make his character interesting (and by interesting I don't mean fanatical or possessed) I think he'd make an amazing companion or quest-involved NPC.

That could be very interesting if the role he would play would make sense.

One of my female Cousland Wardens put Anora on the throne and setup Fergus to go a-courting Her Majesty.

Interesting! Was there an option for that in-game, or was that just a roleplaying choice on your part? Either way I kind of like it.

I always hated how the epilogue at the end of DA:O made it seem like Anora was content to rule alone and never provide Fereldan with an heir. I get that she wanted to rule alone, but surely she had to know it was only a matter of time before she was assassinated or even died naturally and left the country in a mess without a successor.

Dejajeva and Blessed Silence , I'm with you! I'm still really looking forward to DA3. It seems like the 'people in charge' are paying attention to what we have to say. I'm feeling pretty hopeful. and Jowan and Fergus? Not bad idea's at all.

Not in the game, just in my head.

I always hated how the epilogue at the end of DA:O made it seem like Anora was content to rule alone and never provide Fereldan with an heir. Yeah, that's just it.  In thinking about the future of Fereldan, there needed to be some sort of succession beyond Anora.  Alistair didn't really want the throne, and the taint would render him less likely to sire an heir.  Teyrn Cousland seemed to be popular enough, and Warden Cousland was hailed as a Hero - so it made sense to me.  In a very real sense, it is the marriage of Fereldan's two Teyrnships, and if the Calenhad bloodline had to be interrupted, it made sense to me that it would be the next best thing.

Of course, in my version Anora is not barren, and Cailin was gay.  :)

I never thought I'd be dragged back to the DA forums by Emile de Launcet, but having him as a companion in DA3 is a cracking idea character development wise, seeing him go from inept clueless man-child to capable mage on the run with still no clue how to deal with women would be hilarious (especially if he kept the bad hair).

def need more romance
need more great friendships

I was jealous of the friendship Ava Isa Merril had. They were priceless together... But as Hawke, you were an outsider looking in.

Wish you had something with them, special missions that involved nothing more than you and a companion trying to get out of trouble or cause some in a bar somewhere, then ending up with a big fight cause you ticked someone off. Maybe you cant deal with all of it and your party has to come and save the 2 of you... etc. Friend events as quest and romance events as quest would be a great idea. Like imagine you have to actually romance you LI. Ex) You want to romance Aveline, but you need a certain type of flower that's her favorite, but it only grows on a certain mountain side. Then you need to cook her favorite meal, but you can only get a certain meat or have to buy a recipe from a certain tavern or restaurant to get the flavor right. Depending on how many task you do, depends on how far the relationship goes. It can be a gameplay mechanic and add more story. This would help us as gamers feel we actually did something with or for our L.I. and provide more immersion. Imagine actually trying to date your companion in the game? You instead of getting just a text option to flirt, that part only initiates it. You must then go on a date and say or do the right things to progress. What I speak of would be a complete overhaul of the Romance system, but DA3 could breathe some life into the DA series in all aspects.

We need a dwarf female romance, Didn't like my Dwarf Warden looking ridiculous every time he kissed Morrigan. Also we need the ability to play a dwarf protagonist back =D

I really like this idea. I'd also like it if it were reversed. Say you show an interest in a companion... if they are insterested then they can woo you right back. I think it's only fair. Image IPB

I'd go traipsing all over the countryside looking for ingredients for Cullen's favorite dish. ;)

I don't even like Cullen that much, but I think Bioware needs to bring him back as a love interest in DA3, if for no other reason but to finally put the incessant pining of his fangirls to rest. :P

Omg Emile would be such a cool companion! He'd be the perfect comic relief! Ah I hope he shows up in a cameo role at least!

We've not had a proper Templar companion yet either (Alistair doesn't count lol.) I think it would be cool if you had to pick between two companions like in The Witcher 2 and depending on which one you picked would send you down a different story route.

lol.  :)

It's funny.  Until I had been playing Dragon Age for at least a month after I got it (last May), I never thought I'd be one of those girls.  Then again, I never could openly say, "even though I know visually he's made out of pixels, and the character is from the writer's imagination and isn't a real person, I think he's hot" or something goofy like that.  I'd just play the game, denying it to myself.   But, by interacting with the fans on this forum, I guess the pride rubbed onto me. heh.

It started out like "Oh, he seems like a relatively nice templar," later, "hey, I didn't think I'd see him again; he's a deranged now, but he'll come around; but wow, didn't think he'd survive the mess in the tower;" and now... "Omg!  Cullen" -squee-   especially with his character model redone. lol

Ugh Cullen as a romance:sick:

Honestly I cannot say who to have as a romance. I had a hard time in Dragon Age 2 liking most of my companions(aside from Anders and Varric) much less seeing any NPC that I would like a chance with. In Dragon Age Origins, I would say I would love to see Ogren back again, that dude was hilarious. But uh not as a romance though, yuck!

I want Jowan as a love interest. :) I sent him into the fade, ir was tough but way better that way

I want cullen as a romance, not because I fancy him but because it will be interesting. Alistar was kinndaaa a templar in DA, but being able to romance a real one who ideals may clash with the players own...that is really interesting. His backstory is interesting too.
