Ok I'll resist the shirtless
just finished reading Asunder, which was originally why I came here anyway...
So, I just finished Asunder, my head still spinning a bit - what a superbly exciting setting for DA3 - and I would
absolutely love to see Rhys the mage again. He seems enough of a sophisticated, complex character, funny if he wants to, sensitive and compassionate, with doubts and enough room for an interesting darker side (just a tiny bit). Don't know if we're allowed Asunder spoilers here so I'll just leave it at that.
Cassandra - I definitely hope to (and am sure we will) see her again but, based on just DA2, I find her way too
dominant and powerful for "just a companion". She would have to be balanced out somehow by, I don't know, a special PC (or shirtless Cullen maybe?), otherwise I might feel like an idiot with her around.
A strong, interesting Templar companion - we often hear "we will add an X companion if the story needs it" and somehow I can't imagine a DA3 story not needing a Templar companion, so yes please, whether it's Cullen or not.
And, basically any other character. Everytime I finish a Bioware game, I'm all sad, thinking I don't want to say goodbye to the characters because there must be only a limited amount of great guys and gals out there on those shelves, where the writers take them from, and surely the stock is depleted by now... and each time I'm pleasantly surprised to find out I was wrong.

There were other instances when a hug or kiss would have been appropriate, like when Hawke and Aveline escaped getting killed in Act 2 by the Arishok. All Anders said was "You're safe, thank the Maker, I thought
they got you." Really romantic that wasn't!
Yes, a little kiss, hug, or touch now and then could do miracles.
Also, realistic sex scenes don't always have to be more graphic. And for me, it's often the path that matters, not so much the culmination.
And lastly, someone mentioned early in the thread we needed more romances and more great friendships, or something along the lines, and I just couldn't agree more on the friendships part. I love me a good romance, but friendships tend to be underrated, although I'm not necessarily pointing my finger at Bioware here. Varric was an awesome example - I loved how he genuinly cared for the others and for the PC. Aveline counts here, too. I guess it might be more difficult to write a believable strong friendship bond between a companion and the PC, than a romantic one? Just like in real life
