I just installed ME1 for the first time on this laptop.
It auto opens the config to check your settings, but it's freezing up and windows force closes it.
Windows said there was an update, so I downloaded it and installed, but the problem keeps happing. How can I fix this. The support site says to DL an update (same or different?) I need to register the game, so I tried THAT, but it doesn't appear on the list of games to register. All I see is WAR, DA 1&2, and ME 2 &3.
Please help me fix this so I can do a full play through!

Have you tried this patch? http://masseffect.bi...ates/index.html
If that doesn't work, you may need to just send in a support ticket. You should receive a free code for the Bring Down the Sky DLC as well, and as far as I know you'll have to send in a ticket to claim your code for that. May as well get two birds with one stone.

THANK YOU! That link to the patch fixed my start up issue. Now I just have to figure out how to register the game to my account.
