I'm running windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, when I try to run the character creator, I get the splash screen, hit play, and then nothing happens.

I've been through similar problems recently with Assassin's Creed and GTA IV, but was able to mostly fix them by running the executables in Administrator mode. (I can run them via deskstop shortcuts, but not directly from steam.. if there's a command line I can add to the steam launcher to fix this I'd love to know about it.)

I tried this with the DA char creator and still have the same problem.

I'm running a Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66ghz, 4 gigs of ram, and a Geforce 8800 GTX. I updated all my drivers and directx to the latest versions when I was fixing the problems with AC and GTA 4, which was about a week ago, and have since tried the nvidia 195.39 beta drivers

Please tell me I'm not gonna have the same problem with the full game when it unlocks?

Can you run the regular character creator?



If so, you might be better served trying the steam forums.

I'm using Win7 64-bit, retail not the RC, and the CC works fine for me. Try turning off the User Account Control settings, found in User Accounts in the control panel. This eliminates the Admin mode sillyness.
