Not in the least. I'm just sorry the Quarians didn't suceed in the first place. It would have saved them alot of trouble. I don't believe AIs or synthetics are ever truly alive, hence destroying one is no more wrong than trashing your computer.

Its still pretty stupid to freak out if a computer still does its job just because its smart enough be self aware . I don't consider AI's to be really equal to organics ( AI's , the Data can allways be backed up somewhere somehow ) but as long as they are peaceful and do what they had been created / programmed to do i don't give a flying ****.

This one found it unfortunate that the industrious Quarians did not use a humble Hanar in their tactical appraisal for retaking their homeland. Had a Hanar been consulted, it would have first recommended to ask politely for the Quarian homeworld back.

Everything would have gone without a hitch if that happened.....

Wow, we really need to keep a Hanar on hand for all future negotiations.

Actually, what stood out most to me was the fact that there were quarian sympathizers that tried to protect the geth from the exterminators, even giving their lives. To me, that showed that this was much more than synthetic vs. organic. It was just another human story that we can recognize all too well.

I think the geth are utterly terrifying and I would kill them all in a heartbeat if I had the chance. Not that I don't think they're sympathetic, but any race capable of IMPROVING their own intelligence would eventually become so advanced that our intellect would be like that of an ant to them. So far below us we don't even consider the emotional response they'd have when we destroy their entire colonies with poison, just because them living is inconvenient to us.

Well godkid created the Reapers so we don't have to worry about the synthetic retaliation though...

This is EXACTLY what I am going to say. You can't hold anyone responsible for the actions of others, even if those others looked the same, to do so would racist, and yes, I totally went there.

Yet the quarians went to war again even though the reapers came. The geth was preparing for the reapers and quarians just HAD to go to war. =_= Lets just say to me personally a lot of sympathy went out of the window for me when I found out they went to war with the geth.

Technically speaking, the Geth were occupying their home world. Right or wrong, this simple fact remains.

For what it's worth, I was pissed that the Quarians decided to attack the Geth considering they knew the Reapers were coming...

those quarians died 300 years ago it's not their homeworld anymore..so lets not say dumb things. Those Quarians were dumb for what they did to the Geth and the "current quarians" started a war against a race that wanted peace.  (the Quarians didn't even ask for peace they just started attacking)

Doesn't really matter. Both groups were monsters in the Morning War, it's not really relevant which monster started it.

If I had to choose though, I would pick the quarians over the geth any day. The quarians actually have personalities. Only one geth even spoke to you in ME3, and then he died (in a stupid, hypocrite way) so that other geth could act like lesser versions of himself.

Boring race is boring.

Lol except oops, the Reapers are dead now. I hope you picked destroy! But yeah if nothing else, I completely agree with the godkid on that. Not sure I agree with his methods, but the reasoning is sound. I really do believe that synthetics will tryly kill all organics if allowed to flourish. Not because they'll be antagonistic, because the Geth are not. Simply because at some point, we won't even register as something to consider the feelings of. There may be small fractions of geth considering "organic rights" but you see how successful that is for animal rights today. And consider that they'll CONTINUE to widen the intelligence gap until literally we will be pointless anachronisms.

Legion was host to ~1100 geth individuals IIRC.

The Geth also speak to Ra'an on Rannoch etc. They're good peeps.

Nope. Those 1100 programs create Legion's personality. They're not each an individual, like say the virtual reality ship.

True. I guess the question is, can organics modify themselves as fast as synthetics can? I say probably not. It's a lot easier to create something new (new hardware/software) then to modify EXISTING hardware and software. The old and outdated systems wouldn't be holding back progress. I think the divide would happen regardless of transhumanism eventually.

Which is funny considering Soverign says that organic life is a mistake; if that's the case, why do we need to be protected?

Synthetics obviously are above and beyond superior, both Geth and Reaper alike; wouldn't the galaxy be better off without fleshies in general? We tend to cause more problems than we fix.

I was only angry at those particular Quarians, not Tali or anything; she was actually not opposed to peace in the end. Xen and Han' Garrel kind of pissed me off. Xen is a callous, opportunistic **** and Garrel is just an **** that was deaf to any notion of peace.

I guess I could see that. When he was building consensus I always presumed a really bad case of multiple personality disorder.

Oh of course it would. Without a doubt. However, being a "fleshy", I tend to have self preservation instincts. Even though the universe would be better off without us, I want to survive. That's one of the themes of Mass Effect after all, is self preservation, and at what cost. The reapers, the geth, the Krogan, Quarians, even the council races. They all want to live. But NO ONE in the mass effect universe is willing to sacrifice their race for yours. The geth attack you, Wrex attacks you, etc.

Well yeah, they probably would at first. The Geth are nice guys after all. But like I said eventually we'd be like animals, then insects, then microbes. At some point, aiding us begins to seem silly.
