I have created the thread called "Can't reply anymore" ( http://social.biowar...c/6/index/74792 ) to see if I was able to create threads. It showed up after a while. So did one reply to another thread. Most are still missing though.
So I tried to update the my thread with this new info. But it does not allow me to do that and it shows the error message "You requested an invalid topic". That's strange, because the topic is there and doesn't seem to be closed.
Can someone test both threads and see if they are able to reply to it?

Funny enough, as I clicked on this topic I got that same error.

Let's see if I can reply to this thread...

This is odd. The reply above shouldn't have shown up, because I got the same error message again and it didn't show me the reply. When I view the thread list this threads showed 0 replies and 0 views.
I am giving up for the time being.
Please fix these issues.

I have found a work around now. It seems that I have to ignore the error messages. I just need to refresh the page a couple of times until there are no more error messages shown. I can then reply (which gives me an error message, but which can be ignored because it has been posted anyway).
Of course it makes forum reading tedious because I often get error messages while trying to open a thread. What a mess.
Edit 1: Modifying an existing post works too.
Edit 2: Modifying an existing post gives the same error messages but can als give me the "Wrong post" error message. Hmmm.
Edit 3: It also borks the word wrap. I have corrected it this time to see if it can be corrected.

I'm currently getting roughly a 50% chance of that error message appearing when trying to open any topic on these forums. I'm thinking overall with all the issues, the old forums were taken down prematurely, and the social network site needed to at least reach a less clunky beta before such a move was made. Hopefully it'll soon be resolved.

I'm currently getting roughly a 50% chance of that error message appearing when trying to open any topic on these forums. In posting a reply I mostly get "! You cannot access this restricted area", or sometimes "! You are not allowed to execute this action". There seems to a be a nice range of error messages waiting for me when I try to do anything. I don't know if this reply will "take" or not, but here goes ...
It look to me like, at least one of the servers in the cluster is referencing a stale copy of the back-end database and clicking on a link to anything more recent than about 7 hours ago randomly hits that stale copy, where the content the link is pointing to doesn't exist yet.
It's like a time warp in a quantum universe

Its getting rather frustrating to be honest. I am afraid to put my registration key in to the website (when I receive the email from D2D) for fear that something will screw up and lock out the key. Posts appear as not being updated for hours, when a reply was made a minute previously. Post views appear randomly sorted - sometimes you get the new posts, sometimes it seems you get server cached posts (I say server cached because I have force refreshed my cache and gotten the same results).
I know its just a ton of extra traffic, but I am truly surprised that BioWare/EA didn't put some extra redundancy and server muscle into the pool 'just in case'. Just in case is now here and the forums are more unreliable than any forum I have visited that I can remember. I hope they can get it worked out, but I am afraid we won't see any posts of them telling us that because... well.. the forum will eat them.
I am posting this at 12:48PM my time (eastern), lets see how long until it appears.

Neither can I.
Hitting F5 continually until I get a page that's less than 7 hours stale is getting tedious.

Thing is though, how would they test all the issues throughly if everyone kept using the other forums? This is the first time the social site has really been used, so there are bound to be issues. Not to say they aren't annoying, but this would have happened sooner or later anyway.
I get this too. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

What I find most disturbing is that BioWare ignores threads like these. Didn't we post enough information? Do we need to fall on our knees to get attention. I am getting enough of this company.

It would have been nice if the original forums were left, get 50-100 people to test a closed-live beta of this social network to iron out bugs, and release it to the wider online community when at least basic functionality worked.
Oh well, I guess I'll just take pot shots at entering posts and copy + paste them into Notepad after I write them...

These problems are linked to other issues around the site that we are working to fix right now. Sorry for the inconvenience, we are working to get them fixed ASAP.
