Honestly Inx, even WITHOUT ME1's moddable weapon attachments, ME2 felt more complete simply because i had a wider range of weapons to choose from, even before the DLC. sure it got rid of a lot of the random weapon attachments but even without those, I felt the weapon system was "better" simply because the amount of differentiated weapons was higher and not just by some arbitrary stat system, but by actual feel of he weapon.

as for your comment Gosia, glitches and bugs will appear in a game no matter what, I've never played a bug free game, why? because some stuff falls through the cracks and if your intent is a game is ONLY complete if it has NO issues...well... you wouldnt be gaming at all cuz all of them have an issue here and there. Of course not everyone experiences bugs, but they DO happen regardless

as for the game feeling rushed... I dunno I didn't get that feeling personally, if anything ME2 was more rushed as they had MORE to do between ME1 and ME2 which changing over the whole system to its current form and one could even make the argument that ME1 was rushed if you hit upon a few key areas, but thats besides the point, to me (opinion here) all the games were complete upon purchase and the DLC just extended my enjoyment

You did get a complete game. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end. Just because you did not like the ending does not mean you were sold an incomplete product.

I'm not a fan of the endings and would love to see DLC that provides a more satisfying conclusion to the game. But if that DLC ever does get released, Bioware has every right to charge for it.

The question never was whether they have the right to charge for it: they have the right to charge $300 for the standard edition of the game if EA permits. The question is whether it is the responsible thing to do.

I still like

"Back in my day! We had games that had two sticks and a ball to bounce between them... it was simple dammit and we liked it!"

.....is it wrong to love Pong? I think not.

I know Cainne that gliches happen all the time, even in those simplest games. It just adds to the feeling of incompletenss for me :?. I remeber two particularly funny ones: one was in ME 2 - whenever I came to talk with Liara on Ilium her head was gone:O, there was only the rest of her body moving or siting there (disapeared after some time lol), and in Baldur's Gate - for sometime birds were flying backwards:blink: but that's beside the point.
And btw I like Pong too ^_^

They have every right to charge for any new DLC they produce. As someone once said, BW is not a ONLUS..selling things is their job.
The real question is different: is it worth investing money in producing new DLCs by now? I don't think that many people would buy a DLC (i certainly don't) until a new ending DLC (and i will pay for that ofc, we all will) is released. And with a new ending i don't mean a 10 minutes cinematic which tries to explain why all my folks zapped on the normandy and crashed on a unknown jungle planet. I'm going to watch those 10 minutes on youtube..a ending DLC needs to add some gameplay, possibly some choices and so on.
Than, and only than, i would consider buying a "mid-game content" DLC. I don't really see the point in spending money in an extra N7 mission which has no impact at all on my ending, since the "ending" is what really gives me satisfaction or not.

Let's think about it, let's think if it's really worth for BW investing money in new contents that people won't buy..

Exploiting consumers for the least amount of work is.

If anything, listening to the 'big' CEO's from companies like EA and Activision makes you feel they are the ones that act like they are "entitled". "Entitled" to consumers money for providing less product.

No wonder Indies are getting more and more popular.

Javik added almost nothing to the story.  If he had information on the Crucible then ya that would be grounds to complain, but he is just a soldier with no pivtol knowledge that turned the tide in the fight.

It was explained several times that it was made after the game went to certification.  The only people who say otherwise are people who refuse to believe it.

Just like how his character model, main game voice files and skill tree are all on the main disc, eh? Or how all the CE weapons and pre-order bonuses are on there too?

DLC planned and created after the game is released is okay by me. The thought that they take out, withold certain game content during developement or planned before developement is very uncool, and is insulting. It is only getting worse. Besides Bethesda, I can think of no other company doing DLC the right way now.

At least Bethesda makes a "complete" game then thinks "Hey, lets make big meaty dlc like Shiver Isles". Thats what I like about Bethesda, they make awesome games, they learn from their mistakes, they care for the customers/fans that support the business and strive to do better. Heck neither Oblivion or Skyrim had pre-order bonus DLC. That says to me, they have a finished product that stands by itself. Plus thier Collector's Editions, had actual physical items, not game content.

Exploting gamers to get maxium dollar for small content is EA business model, which is now Bioware too. :(

Maxing out the original product, adding more beefy content at a later date for fair price tag, Bethesda.

This really can't be argued. Seriously.

Sorry but that is not true. I am pretty sure John would argue with you on this regarding the requirement of the character to be present when creating his cinematics for all interactions involving such characters. This has always been the case with companions. Shale was on the disc, Legion was on the disc and I believe Kasumi also was partially on the disc, Sebastion was on the disc and so was Javik. Unlike cameos which can be easily patched in and out, companions are almost always to my knowledge or always on the disc themselves. There are so many interactions and cinematics needed for them to be present that it is important to have him present on the disc during development. You are mistaken about just requiring audio.

I've read your posts through this thread, seen you mentioning about how you have better perspective than anyone because you've been a gamer for a long time, and the only thing I can think of is that you hold a sense of superiority over everyone else.

To clarify, I have also been a gamer for a long time. I first got into it with the SNES in '94, but I've played most of the early systems as well (via emulator, etc). I have no problem with DLC. I have no problem with day-one DLC. I have a problem with DLC that's partially on disc.

The only asset of Kasumi's on the ME2 disc was a placeholder model that only worked during the Suicide Mission. Although the model (which looked absolutely nothing like the final design) was included on the disc, it didn't work outside that one mission, and had no other relevance to the game at all. Zaeed was not on the disc at all without the requisite DLC files. Javik is a totally unique case.

I read the "From Ashes" post you linked above (LinksOcarina's post), and I posted several times in it when it was pinned at the top of the page. It was a deeply flawed post.

Maybe you didn't follow the discussion enough, but it is known (via the modding topic) that everything besides the Eden Prime mission, Particle Rifle and alternate squadmate outfits is present on-disc. The pre-order bonuses, enough files (all the main game voice clips, character model, skill tree) to have Javik up and running fine in game and all the CE weapons. Everything on-disc (voice files, character model, skill tree) was all completed by the time the game was locked for certification.

That is all content that is on-disc and hidden behind unlock keys. I don't know about you, but I will not be nickel-and-dimed for content I already have on a physical disc I buy.

Guess this is the downside to the internet being integrated into everything; game developers get to go nuts with DLC. On the other hand, it is kinda nice to at least have the option to have all these extra little things.
