Then again, Animal Mother has a bit role in that tiny part of Full Metal Jacket nobody ever seems to remember or watch. Otherwise known as 'the second and third acts'.

Yes, I like his episode in FMJ, but it really was small. Still, he was carrying an M60, as I remember, so he was looking cool.

Firefly gave him a fanbase I think.

Also, he was voicing Kal Reegar, the red-suited Quarian you could save on Tali's recruitment mission in ME2.

lol a random character with 3 lines in the entire game has fangirls? Oh wait maybe its just more people trying to **** about any bioware decision. Kal'Reegar was a completely forgettable character and shouldnt be missed (they did drop the ball on Mordin's VA tho)...

Maybe the character was completely useless? There is no point to bring him back anyway. Imo Bioware's only mistake was wasting money on Adam Baldwin to voice a completely minor character in ME2...

It's one of the few Quarian males you encounter (and the second one you speak with). He looks cool, has good lines, and its Adam Baldwin, wears red, all of which make him memorable. By no means 'random'. Also, many other 'random' characters reappeared, so why not him? People constantly moan about Shiala, don't they?

Infact Chobot's character is far more valuable to the plot than his character, and she probably charged less for the job...

Considering, that Chobot is a godawful VA, you're probably right.

Edit: also, I don't know if her character is so valuable to the plot, because, like many others, I don't allow her on the Normandy. Kal Reegar had potential.

Mordin's VA said the same thing: "They never contacted me for ME3" (not exact qutoes but he kept saying via email that he had not recorded yet up until Bioware officially announced that VO work was done for ME3)

Would have been cool to see him during the Geth/Quarian part of the campaign, perhaps he could have been in that mission where you have to save the Admiral?

I heard he originally was. He was part of the crew trying to locate Krois and you have to choose between saving Koris and Kal'Reeger and his squad. At least that's what I heard from the leaks

I know Kal'Reegar died, he even got the ignominious off screen death as well. Really, poor show on account of many ME 2 characters. Most just come back to die.

Awful. Just awful. Shame, Bioware. You better retcon that email and put him back in! Don't act like you can't do it.

When I met Kal in ME2 I was convinced we'd have a mission with him in ME3, or at least a return of his character if he survived, perhaps when we picked up Tali like last time. He doesn't deserve the footnote given to him, especially when you saw fit enough to bring back many other Quarian characters for the Rannoch arc. I heard that ME3 was only around a year and a half in development. It's showing; painfully so.
