Well what do you think is better and why?
Dragon Age Origins or Final Fantasy 13?

Comparing a CRPG to a JRPG is like comparing a film to a carnival ride.

Considering the fact I haven't played it yet (the release is still Dec. 15th isn't it?), I have to say DA:O. Not only because it's what I've played so far, but I'm a huge Bioware/CRPG fan (this is coming from someone whose favorite RPG of all time is Final Fantasy VIII though, so I'm not anti-JRPG at all).
I know I'll love FF13 regardless, I love Final Fantasy, but I haven't played one since 10, which means I have no experience with their new combat system.

Umm, I think you are a bit early. You can't really compare a game that has been released to one that hasn't yet been released.

Comparing FF13 to Dragon Age is like comparing Modern Warfare 2 to Fallout 3.

I'm going to buy a PS3 when FF13 comes out, just for that one game, so it had BETTER be good.

So is FF13 going to be another coming of age tale featuring an angst-ridden teenager conflicted with the desire to break free from parental/societal control and gain greater independence, while at the same time suffering separation anxiety issues at the loss of a parent/central authority figure?
If so, then it reminds me of basically every other FF game since FF7 and I'll probably take a pass on it.

Which is better? It's a different style of game. I wouldn't try and compare the two. I plan to pick up FF13 whenever it gets released. I like all types of games.

The FF series was quite unejoyable to me.....no choices to make no replay value, boring story and grindtastic up your......well you get the idea. Overall FF games can easily be expected to suck....yes yes I know that once upon a time about 500 trillion years ago there was once a good FF game called FF VII but those days are long gone.
On the other hand DAO is quite an amazing game despite the problems and headaches it tends to create.
With all that said I recommend DAO 100% and I recommend FF XIII 0%.

I think the overall experience > goes to Dragon Age. But FF13 will be really fun but unlike DA:O you won't be able to impact the story in anyway and your main characters class will most likely be defined.
I have to say though, as I grow older and the FF series does too, we don't seem to mesh as well as before. The content doesn't appeal to me as much now.

If you have an xbox 360, why bother? The new FF game is going to be available for both systems.
And I didn't think FF13 was coming out in December... looking at Futureshop it states it's release for March 2010... unless I'm thinking of the wrong game? (Mind you, wish I was wrong about it coming out in March, I've been waiting for it to come out for a while)
I really don't think you can compare a game that hasn't come out yet, to a game that has come out. But I have to say that I do love FF, it's what got me into consoles (well it was ff x-2 that did).
I didn't even know about Dragon Age Origins... until like a couple weeks before it came out, and a friend suggested it. It's like the game I didn't realize I was waiting for. I have to say, playing DA: O has made me forget about waiting for FF13. I wouldn't be surprised if DA: O ends up being my favourite out of the two (but ask me again when I've played the new FF).

I haven't finished a Final Fantasy since 8... I buy them all anyways hoping that the next one will be good, but I am always disappointed. I have 13 on preorder and I'm sure it will be another disappointment. Perhaps by Final Fantasy 16, my expectations will be so small that I will finally enjoy it. ;p

F13 releases March 16 I believe, and the main character is a female. I personally love the FF series, but DA is a very different kind of game. I tend to like JRPGs more than western style. But I've really gotten into DA and a few other USRPGs lately.

Okay....****** question.
What does JRPG and CRPG stand for? Clearly something-role playing game.
