the dwarf at camp has one. it goes for around 7 g. If you had bought one earlier while in Ostagar, the quartermaster had it for under 1g.

The Quartermaster at Ostagar has *two*.  One in his normal goods store, and one in his special goods.  Both for under 1 gold.

huh. I only see the one in his normal inventory. I bought it. The special goods store does not have a back pack in my game.

I noticed the Quartermaster at Ostagar has two backpacks but the way I found them was: buy the first one before going out into the wilds and buy the second after you come back from the wilds (the second one only appeared after I came back from the wilds). I did not notice if they were in different 'stores'.

wrong.  he has one backpack when you first arrive..and a second when you come back from the wilds...he doesn't have one in normal and one in special

Hehe yeah I just got to Ostagar on my second run and noticed the cheap backpacks there, I remember I thought it expensive and useless on my first run, boy was I wrong! I'm not making that mistake twice.

Actually, in Ostagar you can purchase 2 backpacks...before you go into the wilds you can buy one and then prior to going to the Tower to light the signal fire you can buy another one.  The dwarf in Denerim has one for sale as does Bodahn at your campsite.  The Circle of Magi quartermaster has one for sale as well.  There may be more but thats the only ones I know about.

@OP: At your stage in the game the cheapest you can find is from Gorim the merchant dwarf in Denerim, he sells at 5 gold 50 silver (or is it 90?). All the rest are around 6-7 gold a piece.

I only bought one during my first run and I think it served me well, there were some occasions where I would have liked two though. Getting them for 10% the normal price in Ostagar is an absolute steal when you know what they'll cost you later on and you should never need more than 2 of them I think.

I admit i never did get the ones in Ostagar, I always rushed past that so far to get on with the game after my first character. booo

The second bag in Ostigar only shows up at night, so after you turn in your quests but before you talk to the king.



As far as max bag space, I've gotten to 125 slots. The last one only gave me 5 instead of the normal 10.
