Games - mass effect 3 - Game Patches. Says it's now running on 1.01 version if Origin auto-patches it correctly. since there is no way to see in Origin itself to check whether mass effect 3 is running the correct version because it's lacking it's own specific launcher. (mass effect 1 & 2 had an own launcher where you could see under which version the game is running) Now at this point i can still see an accurate estimation of the game version when i check the windows menu; add / remove programs. All my other applications are listed in that menu under the right version number and the Mass effect 3 game version number is listed as: 1.0.0.0. So that makes it suspicious that the 1.01 patch is not applied to my game version at all. Obviously i have been running the mass effect 3 "check for updates" origin option countless of times and it keeps saying 'mass effect 3 is up to date". So that doesnt seem right to me. Anyone else experiencing this? or have a possible solution? any comment on this would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi to find out what version your Mass Effect 3 is, do the following. Open the MassEffect3Config.exe file located in the Binaries folder, inside your Mass Effect 3 folder. Then in the left column under the Mass Effect 3 title, click on Game. It'll then show you what version your running under version information. It would be nice though if there was some way of finding this information within Origin itself.

thanks for the info, i blame myself for rushing this topic since i already find out earlier (before your post) that the same launchers the previous mass effect games had was still available for mass effect 3 but not run automatic anymore on start up, but hidden in the file location you noted. Was relieved to see mass effect 3's own launcher noted it was running  on 1.01 version while windows still says it's on 1.0.0.0 but i blame windows for that. anyway thanks for replying in the first place

The same happened to me, I fixed it reinstallig the game.

§But, seriously, origin does have really A LOT of problems...even the 8.5.2 update to origin itself caused the program to crash....

You know:
Start -> All Programs -> Mass Effect 3 -> Configuration
is the same just without browsing through endless paths

True, but you never know if someone has deleted the shortcut, which is why I mentioned the file location
